Spooky Mulder (volocibum) | 41 comments Zoe sat down on a stool at her now usual paint stained table. She'd just moved here recently, after school had actually begun, but barely. She felt sick, generally art class was a haven for her as there was just creativity and a general lack of being judged, but she was anxious today. This time she knew exactly why, which was good because she could try to talk herself out of it. Still, she trembled. She rest her elbows on the table and her face in her hands, trying to control her breathing.

Lance entered the classroom, chin up and a smile on his face. To others, it may have seemed like he had been off skipping class, but in truth he had been at a dentist appointment. Which wasn't so manly, to his own belief. He handed his dentist excuse to the teacher, sitting down next to a girl he didn't recognize. Being the friendly guy he was, his grin grew wider. "Hey." He said quietly, his eyes softening as he watched her, waiting to gauge her reaction. Lance had had a rough night, after seeing what had happened to Lily. He hoped so badly that that type of thing wouldn't happen to him, not that he was a cheerleader.

Spooky Mulder (volocibum) | 41 comments Zoe hears someone say something, she wasn't sure if it was directed towards her. She took a deep but shaky breath and looked up at him with wide eyes and a slight frown. So he was talking to her. She didn't have a clue as to who he was, so she forced herself to switch tracks from anxious to friendly. "Hello," she greeted, her accent evident even in the short word. She even smiled at him a little bit. She pushed some loose hair back, she'd have to redo her braid later.

"I'm Lance." He told her, a genuine grin slipping onto his face. "You must be new?" Raising his eyebrows, he scooted his seat closer to the table and rested his hands on the table. An idea came to his mind, and he looked back to her, meeting her eyes with his. "Zoe right?" His features formed a more serious expression and he glanced down at his hands. Lance was working on a detailed drawing of hands at the moment, and he stood back up to retrieve it from one of the assorted shelves.

Spooky Mulder (volocibum) | 41 comments "Nice to meet you," Zoe told him politely, smiling a bit more. She began to untangle the braid in her hair, so it wouldn't get in the way. "Yeah, I just moved from England recently." She explained, while twisting her hair back into a French braid. "Yup," she answered about her name. She finished the raid and stood up to retrieve a blank piece of paper and pencils, she hadn't had any ideas as to what to draw in her short time here. "That's really great," she praised his drawing after admiring it for a moment.

"This?" Lance scowled, examining his artwork. It was nothing really, just a messy sketch. But if she saw something in it, that had to mean something. It really wasn't much of anything though. "England's cool." He nodded politely, leaning down to pick a pencil up off the floor. He held it tightly in his hands, laying it down next to his papers. "What are you going to do?" He asked, meaning everything in general, but her artwork specifically.

Spooky Mulder (volocibum) | 41 comments Zoe nodded, then added, "I like it." She twirled a pencil between her fingers, one of her less destructive nervous or thinking habits. "Yeah, so is America, though it's actually a lot warmer," she joked a bit lamely. She stared at her blank paper for a moment, biting her lower lip and twirling the pencil as she thought. "Not sure. Maybe the perspective of the room from the floor. That might end up being messy for my shirt, if I was actually to lie on the ground. I might just take a picture." She stopped talking before she began to completely think out loud, she could ramble on for ages.

((I'm sooo sorry I didn't see this!!))
Lance smiled, a light smirk creeping to his lips. He had to admit, her rambling was kind of cute. Very cute, to be exact. But Lance wasn't that type of guy. "America's fine, it's pretty good I guess." Lance gave her a small nod of agreement, noting her habit to twirl her pencil in her fingers. Again, another cute little thing she did. "Thanks. Not much of an artist myself, but I look forward to seeing your artwork." His smile split into a full-out grin, and he leaned further back in his chair before returning back to the earth.

Spooky Mulder (volocibum) | 41 comments ((I'm even sorrier... School and life was really busy and yeah. Sorry))

"Then prepare to be disappointed," Zoe replied in her usual self deprecating manner. She was never really big on self confidence or self esteem. She glanced at the paper, then to the floor. "Do you think it would be too odd if I were to lie on the floor for the rest of class?" She asked, and glanced up at him grinning. She couldn't help but smile a bit, but she quickly looked back to her paper. Being timid was generally and understatement for her.
