I thought that they did a horrible job representing the book, in the movie! Seriously, the movie left out so many important things. However, I loved baby saphira!. She was adorable! I just wanted to reach into the tv, take her out, and keep her for myself. LOL
I still ended up buying the movie, just because I loved the books so much. I am very excited about the 4th book!

Just finished listening to Eldest. Took me almost the whole month of June to get it done. Enjoyed the story..despite its length. Like the narrator enough to keep on listening.
Will be looking for Brisingr but in no rush to get it.

Thats a good one. I listened to that audiobook for the series, after already reading the books. I was surprised to find that it made a great audiobook!

I have all three books, and i loved the first one. But I was abit dissapointed with the books. And for Brisingr i felt as if 700+ pages was abit too much, but despite that I love the series. I was really dissapointed with the movie, Arya is supposed to have black hair not red. D=

The movie ruins it all. Many important parts are cut and the duration was just 90 minutes.
Paolini given too many unimportant detail for Brisingr. I felt a little boring when I was in middle of the book.
I remember getting just over half way through eldest and stopping because it was boring me! I personally like a book that can make me want to skip ahead to find out what happens, but makes me not want to skip it because I wnat to know what happens in between it all!
I really enjoyed the books, even though it does seem very familer because of my knowledge with other series like it (lord of the rings mainly). But despite the similarites that crop up I still enjoyed it very much. I can't wait for the 4th book.

He's still in the process of writing the fourth...He sure is taking a long time though...

I wasn't thrilled with Eragon. It felt kind of generic and everything just happened quickly. I think Paolini got more comfortable in his writing and I enjoyed Eldest much more than Eragon. I got Brisnger for Christmas but haven't started it yet. Never saw the movie b/c the trailer looked terrible.

The movie was a let down. They changed a lot and left out important parts of the story. :(
I still bought it though...LOL

The fourth book is taking way too long. They haven't even set a release date yet! When I don't have a release date to put on my calender (my twilight calender to be exact) it makes me kind of forget about the series because I have read so much other literature. I liked them though. Not one of the best writers of all time, but I like the story.
I agree. It's been a long time since paolini came out with the third book...you'd think he would have at least let his fans know when they can expect the fourth book! :(
Did he say the fourth was the last then? I can't seem to recall since I feel like it's been years since Brisingr came out.

I am fairly certain that there are only going to be four books. Although, there were only supposed to be three, and then Paolini decided that the series would need four books. So who knows...maybe he'll decide that it needs five books. LOL

I thought the movie was horrifyingly bad, but I'm used to that when reasonably enjoyable fantasy novels are turned into movies. As for the book, it was pretty clear that Eragon was written by a 14 year old boy. A bright 14 year old, but still a kid. So far I've only read the first two ... and I mainly read Eragon because one of my coworkers is friends with Paolini's parents and has known him since he was a baby. He talked about the novel well before it was published, I was interested in finding out what it was about. I only read the second one because I received it as a gift. I suppose that eventually I'll be able to borrow the other ones at some point.

I wish I came up with such a great story. *Sigh* I just need a stroke of inspiration. I would probably end up writing it horribly though, so kudos to him. I was too busy worrying about freshman year of high school and definitely not writing a novel.
I really enjoyed the books and Brisinger was the favorite. But the whole situation with series books is my pet peve, to read an enjoy a series only to find out it's not complete! I hate that! That's why when I read series all the books are done. I love closure to my stories. I read a series one time that the author never finished. I'm sure hoping that this is not going to be the case with this series. If I had known it was not complete I probably would not have read it until the final book was complete.

That's why I prefer to begin each series after it has already been completed. However, sometimes I end up reading it before it's completed, and end up being annoyed at having to wait 1+ years for the next book in the series. There is one series I have been waiting for 11 years! All the books were completed other than the very last book. Argh!
Does anyone know when the next book in the inheritance series is supposed to come out?

No date has been given. Title is chosen and has been for a couple years now its up to the publisher to announce it. The cover art for the last book is done. CP says that he is nearly done writing. Then its gotta be edited which may take 6 months. If we see it next year probably mid - late summer early fall would be my guess.
I love these books and can't wait for the last one. will have to read them again to refresh my self before the next one comes out.
I just finished Eldest and thought Eragon's teaching section was too drawn out. Overall I like the books but I get a LOTR fan fic vibe a lot of the time. I will check out Brisinger though.
I agree with Tara, I prefer to read a series in one, complete go. I saw the film first - film with dragons and I'm Welsh so had to see it! Then I read the first two books, bought the third at which point I discovered there would be another so it sits in my TBR. I did enjoy the books more so than the film.
Well the final one has just been announced..finally! November 8th of this year the last book Inheritance is due out. :)

I know, I saw that yesterday! I'm so excited!

Me too! But I'll have to make sure I remember the last one well enough not to be lost in this one.
I love this series, I have the first three. I can't wait to read the fourth. The movie was terrible, I complained all the way through it.
Okay, this is one of my favourite series ever. Adore it.When I found out that the 4th book (Which I have now!!!) was coming out soon, I reread all the books to freshen up on the details and names. The last book came out a long time ago. Can't wait to start the 4th Book!!
I haven't read any but I have Eragon in my closet and hope to read it sometime within the next month or two. Loved the movie so much I own it =)
I'm almost finished with Inheritance. I have always wandered (and wanted) if Eragon will end up with Arya.I love this series.
I need to read the last book, but since it's been so long... I think I need to re-read the series first. :(
I still need to start Inheritance, though I have some free time this weekend so with luck I'll start :)Everyone should read the series, and theres no harm in rereading them. You will enjoy Inheritance more if you remember the series.
I liked them all okay. I'd definitely read them again. The story was good, I thought, but I've been spoiled by Lord of the Rings, so I didn't think it was excellent, lol. The movie would have been good, if it hadn't been based on the book. There was no way they could have done the other books because of how the movie was made. :/

Did you enjoy the series?
Any predictions about the 4th book?
Do you think Eragon will end up with Arya?
