I'll be joining in with The Grass is Singing readalong and will start Middlemarch, the Classics Group Read. Not sure what else yet...
I'm going to try to finally finish the Wool series. I had started on my iPad and discovered I cannot read too long on a computer screen, so I finally have all 5 books on my nook and would like to get through them over the next month
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier (group fiction read)The Problems of Philosophy by Bertrand Russell (group non-fiction read)
The Grass is Singing by Doris Lessing (group readalong)
The Wench Is Dead by Colin Dexter (continuing Inspector Morse readalong for another group)
Selected Poems by Anna Akhmatova (group poetry read)
I have edited this to allow myself a couple of extra spontaneous choices. It's still January, so I think I'm allowed :)
The woman in white by Wilkie Collins and Tell the wolves I'm home by Carol Rifka Brunt. I am hoping to do a Doris Lessing book too I have Mara and Dann to read also a couple of randoms.
My list for February:The Rings of Saturn – W.G.Sebald (readalong Dhanaraj)✓
The Man With the Golden Arm – Nelson Algren (personal challenge - National Book Award)✓
Rebecca – Daphne du Maurier (group read fiction)✓
The Fish Can Sing – Halldór Laxness ✓
The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson ✓
Arcadia – Tom Stoppard (seasonal playwright) ✓
Drysalter - Michael Symmons Roberts (poetry for review)✓
The Problems of Philosophy – Bertrand Russell (group read nonfiction)
Erinnerungen an Anna Achmatowa - Nadezhda Mandelstam ✓
+ more poetry by Anna Akhmatova (seasonal poet)✓

And all of the Middlemarchers: enjoy, I thought it was a great read!! I will probably dust off my notes on it and join discussion.
I will be reading:
Rebecca
Ignite Me
& I'm just going to kind of go with what I feel like for the rest :)

Enjoy Rebecca everyone whose reading it next month. I read it in the latter part of last year so will be popping into the discussion to see everyones thoughts on it.
How is it February already? I need to think about this as I haven't even finished 1 book in January!

I can sympathise, I only finished my 1st book of the year the other day, Heather! The time has flown in. I hope you manage to read something soon! :)

Heather wrote: "How is it February already? I need to think about this as I haven't even finished 1 book in January!"I can sympathize, too! At the moment, I am reading quite a lot, but last November/December time I had ground to a halt - just had no time to read much at all!
not sure what I'm reading in febuary but I am hoping to get back to my hunger games book I did finish fifty shades freed
All I can be sure of is I'm reading LES MISERABLES and I'll probably still be reading WAR AND PEACE, given all the other stuff I'm reading currently. I also plan on reading Boy's Life and Bring Up the Bodies. Oh yeah, I am hoping to do a re-read of Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West.
@Katy, East of Eden is another one of those classics that I haven't read. Looking forward to hearing what you think of it!@Chuck: do you mind linking the title along with the cover? Us poor app-users unfortunately only see a sort of light-blue blank where the cover would be! Thanks :)
(edit: though there is progress, when clicking on the blank it now actually directs you to the book!)
@Chuck - are you reading War and Peace right now? Me too! I admire the fact that you are considering Les Misérables before finishing with the Tolstoy!I haven't completely decided on my Feb. books yet, but here are some I do know about:
Middlemarch - so excited about this one!
The Wench Is Dead (buddy read in another group) ✓
Hamlet, Revenge! (personal challenge) ✓
Young Miles (if I don't get to it this month)
Knots and Crosses (probable BoTM for another group) ✓
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (our Winter Playwright)
poetry by
short stories by
The Swoop: Or How Clarence Saved England
Mike and Psmith

How far along are you? I am about 3/4 done now & would have to say that it moves right along...
I forgot that I was doing P.G. Wodehouse books in Feb.! Yay! So I am changing my short stories to some by him and adding at least 2 or 3 of his non-Jeeves books. I picked up about 10 of those when I first discovered public domain and still have some I haven't gotten to yet :D
Added The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson to my February list, looking forward to this one quite a lot.

February seems to be a New Zealand-themed month for me. Doing a group read The Larnachs and also plan to start reading The Luminaries
The Almond Tree (which I am just starting)The Language of Flowers
The Space Between Us
and if I have time The Theory of Opposites

2. Rebecca
3. Middlemarch
4. The Grass is Singing

I finished The Almond Tree and thought it was terrific. I am now 3/4 of the way through The Secret Life of Bees and when I am finished I have to read The Good Lord Bird for an in-person book club that I just joined. If I have time, I hope to get to:
The Language of Flowers
The Space Between Us
The Theory of Opposites
but this depends on how much reading I get done this month.
I've finished Tell the wolves I'm home currently reading The woman in white by Wilkie Collins and The girl you left behind by Jojo Moyes. Planned for Weekend is a read a long of Take me to the stars and I just got The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt from the library !
I'm still reading Americanah and will be reading A Trip to the Stars with Tracey starting on Sunday. I might fit on The Giver or The Night Rainbow before Sunday .

I don't usually read those types of books but I enjoyed it.
