It's a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone.

Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they’re worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.

Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other’s arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder—would they be better off staying here forever?

Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it.

All the reviews I've read have proclaimed this book to be really great!!

Okay. I was planning on starting this now and I got 4% and looked at the clock. Its past 12 here so I am going to bed now. Too tired to start a new book. I am liked the introduction though - I am a little confused but I am barely into it yet so I cannot really comment. I really hope I like this one! :) Going to read more tomorrow. :P

Chapter 4 (view spoiler)[ I love how lilac takes charge of the situation and uses her knowledge to save them. (hide spoiler)]

This actually reminded me of Galaxy Express 999, but I can't really tell you way. Maybe because of all the traveling with the stars :) . The crash was very Titanic like, I must admit.
Also, I'm a little ahead with this one, but enjoy the beginning as long as it lasts, because it's going to get a little boring after they land on the planet.
I keep getting the feeling that he's being interviewed because he felt in love with Lilac. And I think her father, despite the fact that he loves her a lot, is a possessive jerk.
If this story turns out to be another princess falls for the beggar with nothing new to it, I'm afraid I'll be disappointed :( .

Chapter 11 (view spoiler)[has Alec been mentioned before? I can't recall. I like Liliac. She is so determined. Despite the fact that her legs are blistered, she keeps going. Though not used to being in such extreme circumstances, she needs a lot more rest than Traver. (hide spoiler)]

@Aarati, I think he was mentioned before only like "the brother". Yes, I like Liliac and Trevor as well, the story is the one that gets a little boring. They will be walking for a while from no on. It's going to be a Lord of the rings kind of journey XD.

27% - (view spoiler)[I don't know what I feel about it so far. Not particularly enjoying it. I mean its interesting and very action-packed. Plus I agree with @Aarati that these questions between every chapters are suspenseful and intriguing. I just don't like the characters much at all. They are annoying me at the moment, mainly Lilac. I agree with you about Lilac, Rachel. (view spoiler)[But I guess that's a rich and spoilt breeding talking. And she did push away Traver, despite genuinely liking him, so that he won't be punished. Though what happens after they crash, well yeah, she is quite arrogant. But then again I guess, she is trying to keep it together any which way that she can. Hopefully she'll get better. Chapter 16 (view spoiler)[I'm glad to see Lilac and Traver's relationship changing. Is there more to the voices Lilac is hearing other than hallucinations? I think so. Traver is quiet adept at changing topics. He doesn't want to answer something, he goes round about it. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I wasn't liking it much then at all. I don't think help was coming, is never did. I don't think I ship Tarver and Lilac. I know they get together, obviously, but I just don't feel their relationship. It seem to forced. :/ (hide spoiler)]

52% - (view spoiler)[This hallucination thing which is now not hallucinations - with Tarver too - is sooo weird. I don't quite know what to think of it all yet. I still don't like Lilac and I am not particularly fond of Tarver either. I feel horrible disliking such an immensely loved book. Is there something wrong with??

1. I like it. I don't know why, but I do.
2. I don't think so.
3. Obviously they are holding on to their pride and egos, but hopefully they'll put their guards down and get to know each other.

@Rachel, no it's not you, I also find the book rather boring :(.
And about the Halucination thing: (view spoiler)[I think some alien force is trying to comunicate witht them, but doesn't know how to. This part reminds me of Ender's Game. Actually, this book turns out to be a compilation of popular stories and I fail to see the originality in all of it. :( (hide spoiler)]

I can vouch for that Sarah, when I check out books, I usually see a horde of people giving it 4 and 5 stars, and there you are with a meager 2 or 3 stars. :D

Around midway in ch 21, to me it feels like, after the titanic disintegrated and Jack and Rose were in the water holding on to debris, except there's this awkward silence and they don't knw what to say or even if they should. Lol!
