Welcome, everyone! The 1,000 copy giveaway ends in a couple of weeks. Once it does, we will be posting discussion questions for different sections of the book so all of you can read at your own pace, and discuss as you read!

We will also be hosting giveaways of the second, third, and fourth books, so tune back soon--and tell your friends!

In the mean time, feel free to introduce yourself. Have any of you read Jeffrey Archer before?

message 2: by Daniella (new)

Daniella Santos | 4 comments Hi! I've been reading Jeffrey's books for over 20 years and yes, I have read them all! My favorite of all time is still the first one I read: Kane & Abel. I haven't stopped since.

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) My favorite is the trilogy with Kane & Abel, The Prodigal Daughter and Shall We Tell the President. I can't tell you how many times I have re-read them.

I love his books and can't wait to read this one!

message 4: by Cathy (new)

Cathy My book group read Only Time Will Tell last year and I couldn't wait to read The Sins Of The Father to find out what happened next.

message 5: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (fuzzarilly) Leslie aka StoreyBook,
I agree with you about the Jeffrey Archer books Kane and Abel and The Prodigal Daughter, that's the books that got me started reading Mr. Archer's books. Most of his books that I haven't read I have on my bookshelf to be read and I think I have mostly all of his books already. You mentioned the book "Shall We Tell the President". Is that part of Kane and Abel and The Prodigal Daughter? Is it the third book in that series or is that just one of his books that you really liked? Thanks, Wendy. P.S. I also just sent you a friend request on goodreads. Thank you!

message 6: by Carol (new)

Carol | 4 comments I got started reading Jeffrey Archer books with Kane & Abel. His books are exciting and I cannot wait to read this one.

message 7: by Benzion (new)

Benzion Chinn | 1 comments I started reading Jeffrey Archer back in 2001 when I spent a year in Israel. My first was As the Crow Flies. I then went to Kane and Abel and Prodigal Daughter. I really disliked Shall We Tell the President and do not acknowledge it as a canonical part of the series much as I do not acknowledge the Star Wars prequels. :)

Hey Wendy, Shall We Tell the President ties into Kane & Abel and The Prodigal Daughter. I consider it a trilogy while it may not be touted that way. I have all 3 books in hardback and on my keeper shelf. I don't keep many books but these I loved. one day I'm going to have to sit down and re-read them!

I tie it into the other two because it is the same characters. To me that makes it part of the series.

Each to their own!

message 10: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (fuzzarilly) Thank you Leslie. I do have Shall We Tell the President on my bookshelf and if I would have known it was part of the first two books I definitely would have read it when I got it years ago. LOL Needless to say I will be reading it as soon as I finish the book I'm reading right now. Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. Now I have something to read while I'm waiting for the next book in the last series to come out. :)

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) I hope you enjoy it Wendy!

message 12: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (fuzzarilly) LOL, I just looked through all of my books before I checked my little notebook which tells me which books I do have and do you know that the only book that I do not have by Jeffrey Archer is "Shall we tell the President". I will be buying it on my kindle or my kobo as sson as I finish the book I'm reading now. It's funny how that always happens. I have over 300 - 400 books on my bookshelves that I haven't read yet and the ones that I really decide that I want to read right now I never have. LOL

message 13: by Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (last edited Jan 29, 2014 09:52AM) (new)

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) that is funny that you thought you had it but didn't. not sure if it is available in ebook format but you never know! I know finding a hardback copy for my keeper shelf was next to impossible, but I found one!

Just checked, it is on Amazon. makes sense to release the older books in ebook format if you can, more revenue stream!

message 14: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (fuzzarilly) It is in kindle and it must be a very good book because for being such an older book it costs $9.99 and I find that if a book that old still cost that much on kindle ii is still selling and is going to be a very good book. I'll be reading it in the next couple of days. But I'm also like you Leslie when it comes to wanting to have a hard copy of it like I have of Kane and Abel and The Prodigal Daughter. I'll find one sooner or later but I'm happy just to know that I can get it on kindle and start reading it. :)

message 15: by Carol (new)

Carol | 4 comments You can get used hard copies of "Shall We Tell the President " at either Thriftbooks.com or Alibris.com. The books I have gotten from either place
have almost seemed like new. Just a thought....

message 16: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (fuzzarilly) Thanks Carole! I didn't even think about Alibris I haven't bought from them in years. What a great idea!

message 17: by Rena (new)

message 29: by Susan (new)

Susan I've just been informed that I've won Only Time Will Tell....my first ever win, which I'm looking forward to reading.

My first Jeffrey Archer was Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less, which I remember being very enjoyable and clever, and which led to reading lots more of his books.

Hi Beth! Now that the giveaway has ended, we will be posting discussion questions, broken down by sections of the book, within the next couple of weeks. We want to give readers time to receive their copy in the mail and dive in!

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) bummer, I didn't get a notice so guess I didn't win.

message 32: by Carol (new)

Carol | 4 comments I didn't get a notice either, Leslie. Oh well, guess I'll have to order to have a hard copy in time for the start.

Leslie aka StoreyBook Reviews (hugbandit7) since it is an older book I'm going to check the library

Hi Chinmay! Because this giveaway is so much larger than the usual giveaways (1,000 copies!), it is going to take a little bit longer to get the books mailed out to all of the readers. But don't worry, it's worth the wait!

message 43: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (Plain_ol_t) | 1 comments Historical fiction is one of the things my dad shared with me that lead to my love of history. We have both read quite a few of Jeffrey Archer's books.
Looking forward to starting this series.
