Blake walked out of the back wearing the uniform and the required roller derby skates. She skated over to the counter and grinned. "Hey may-may" she said to the elder lady behind the bar who smiled and handed her a gallon container of water to fill up empty glasses.((Uniform: https://p.gr-assets.com/540x540/fit/h...

Richard walked into the diner. Time to have some fun he thought as headed ever to a table. He sat down and looked around the place. It was a cool place, too much neon. He silently put on his wireless beats headphones and waited for a waiter/waitress to come over.
She smiled and skated over to the boy who just walked in. "Welcome to Retro, can I getch ya' something to drink?" she asked with her heavy Texan accent.
He didn't hear the waitress. He then looked up and took his beats off and said " Could you repeat that. " He put his beats into his backpack for safes keeping.
((whoops sorry))"I said, would you like something to drink?" she repeated slowly. She was trying her hardest not to get annoyed, though it was hard. With a sigh she slowly filled his glass with iced water and waited for his response. "If you like I can list off our drinks...." she added. "Only if that would help" Blake quickly said, not wanting to upset him or make him think something bad about her.
(( Sorry. ))
" I will have a strawberry milk shake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Hmm and but bits of strawberries in the milk shake." He said trying to keep his slight British accent hidden. He let out a sigh and looked around again.
" I will have a strawberry milk shake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Hmm and but bits of strawberries in the milk shake." He said trying to keep his slight British accent hidden. He let out a sigh and looked around again.
"Yes your majesty" she said mockingly before skating off, a pen stuck into her messy bun of ginger hair. "May, he'll have number three, strawberry..." she then repeated his order to the old woman who smiled and started making the drink. "People these days" she couldn't help but mutter.
Richard ignored the comment and read the menu. He was going to order a burger but just which one? He thought about it. He watched as people entered and left the doors. He put his book bag in between his feet and stretched.
((remember, they have to be enemies in the begining))She picked up the finished strawberry milkshake and skated back over to him, the short uniform blowing up to her upper thigh from the wind of the doors opening and closing. "Here ya go" she put the drink down in front of him and pulled out her small notebook to take orders in. "You ready to order hun?" she asked while pulling the pen from her hair.
" Don't call me hun. " He said. He ignored her for a couple minutes then drank his milkshake. " Can I have a burger with no meat, no cheese, no lettuce, and no sauce. With fries. " He said with a smirk.
"Uh, do you mind repeating that?" she asked nervously writing things down. She tried to hide the hatred as well as she could and fixed her skirt so that it stayed down. A few strands of ginger hair were falling out of the bun but she had no time to fix it.
I said " a burger with no meat, no cheese, no lettuce, and no sauce. With fries... hun " He said again with a smirk. This time showing a little hatred in his voice. " Did you get that down? "
"Yea, sweet pea. I got it down" she smiled and gave his order to the chef. A couple minutes later it was ready and she placed it on his table. "Their you go" she snapped and stuck the pen in her bun. "How about a refill on your water?" she smiled though it was full of hatred.
Richard's hand moved to the full water cup. He pushed it off the table and the water hit the waitress. He had did this because his hand got burnt from the fries. " Woops I will clean that up. " He said with a little snicker even though he didn't mean to do that.
"You dick" her jaw dropped. "How about a free refill?" snatching up a half driken choclate milkshake from a tray she then dumped it over his head with a glare. "Oops" she turned and skated off before anyone noticed. Water dripped behind her and she held onto the counter to keep from tripping. She knew she would have to clean it up, but it was satisyfing. May-may was rolling her eyes at the boy, knowing he had it coming.
" I didn't order a refill sweet-pea. " He yelled over the noise at the waitress. He got up with his milkshake and poured it on her head. " Oopsies " He said taking the two burger buns he ordered and throwing them at her. Satisfied he sat back down at his table. Still coveted in water he ate his fries.
Everyone was suddenly staring at her and she took a step back, tripping and falling backwards. Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly tore her skates off. Racing into the backroom leaving a trail of milkshakes everyone then gave a disgusted glance to the boy, though some of them looked amused.
Richard saw the girl run off towards the bathroom. He got up and ran after her. He knocked on the bathroom door. " Hey, look I'm sorry. My mistakes. I started this warzone. " He Saud through the door. He felt dozens of eyes staring through his soul.
"Go away" she shouted and tore her apron off. Yanking the uniform over head, she was now only wearing under clothing. Milk covered her hair and she was shivering in disgust with herself. The sweet rosey scent of her perfume had been masked by the strong aroma of milk and cream. Which she hated a lot. Milk and cream that it
" I'm sorry. " He said leaning his head against the bathroom door. He knocked on the door again and again hoping she will opeb the door for him.
She jerked the door open just enough to pull him into the room. She had her arms crossed over her chest, whatever she was wearing was mainly hidden under her tanned arms. "What?" she demanded in annoyance. Her eyes were pink from crying but she didn't seem to notice. "Why are you here?" she demanded again, though this time her voice was a lot shakier and it was filled with doubt.
Richard picked up a couple of paper towels and advanced towards the waitress. He kept his hands up as to say he surrendered. " Want me to help you clean " He said moving a couple paces in front of her. He was ready for her if she tried to do anything or say anything. He moved a little bit closer not trying to invade her space and get too close.
"No, you've don anything thank you very much. Not to mention i'm naked" she hissed. Taking the napkins from him harshly she started dabbing at herself. "Thanks for all this" she muttered sarcastically. Sighing in exasperation she glanced around. Dear god, if some walked in she would die of complete and utter embaresement. As if getting disrespected wasn't bad enough.
Richard turned around not looking at the waitress. " Yeah sorry. " He said not turning around again. This would be so awkward is someone walked in. He thought. He grabbed some more paper towels and handed them backwards to her. " Sorry for making this mess on you. " He said apologizing again. He wanted to start over again with her maybe somewhere else. He made sure the door was locked. As he locked it, he fiddled with his fingers.
"Hand me that clean uniform" she said. The sound of water running was on for a moment while she washed her hair out in the sink. She then turned it off and dried her hair out with a hand towel. Waiting for him to hand her the uniform, she glanced around nervously. Thinking about it now.... this place was like a home. She spent more time here than anywhere else.
Richard picked up the dress and tossed it her lightly. He whistled a lullaby to himself as the waitress washed her hair and got dressed. He remembered back home in England he had done this once. This was different a different place now. He wasn't in Bath anymore. He was in LA. " Can we start over somehow? " he asked her with a sigh. He turned around slightly towards the sink looking into the mirror.I could be such a jerk sometimes He thought.
"Maybe" she sighed while getting dressed. Pulling her now-wet hair into a messy bun. She then pulled her skates on. "Well, thanks for getting me soaked in milk shake" she said with a thin, fake smile. She was glad she had been hired here.... it was the closest thing she had to family or a home.
" Ok. " He said before unlocking the door and walking out of the bathroom door. He felt the eyes instantly revert to the door and him. He turned around to the dressed waitress and gave her $50. " Half for tip, half for the meal. " He tore off a piece of a paper towel and wrote his phone number down on it. " He slipped his phone number in with the money. He went to the manager and said sorry for making the mess. He picked up his book bag and walked out of the diner.
She skated over to the table and got down on her knees and started cleaning. Damn kids these days... all they ever did was a make a mess. Or be jerks. Or, most of the time, both. In his case it was both. Insanely rude and picky, plus he was a a pain in her ass. Oh well.
Will walked into the dinner, thoughts of the sixteen year old Lily running through her head. What made her run out? What did he do? Will hated feeling like he hurt someones feelings, and he was pretty sure he did. Will sat down at the bar, and ran his fingers through his hair. Girls were confusing, and he decided he was done trying to understands them. He was so done.
Blake walked over to the boy who just sat down and smiled in annoyance. Couldn't she just take a break? First their was that rude boy, who just had to accidently 'spill' a milkshake all over her. Not to mention the fact that she hadn't gotten a good tip all day. "Can I get you something to drink?" she asked. It was obvious she was forcing herself to be polite. Yet this boy didn't deserve to have the cold shoulder. After all, he hadn't done anything.... yet
Will looked up at the waitress and smiled warmly. He could tell she had had a rough day so far. Just by the look in her eyes. "Uh yeah! I'll have a rootbeer. Thanks." He said with a smile before turning back to his menu. Hopefully he could make her day? Eventually. "By the way, your hair looks nice." He said sincerely right before she skated away. He wasn't kidding. She looked pretty, and he was sure that all the guys in the diner were checking her out.
She nodded, absently reaching a hand up to her head of ginger curls. "Thanks" she smiled ever so slightly, a warm feeling spreading across her cheeks. She quickly skated over to the back wall and crouched down, pulling out a cold bottle. At least someone was trying to lighten her up. Shaking out her head to get rid of her thoughts she quickly got to her feet and turned placing the rootbeer down in front of him. "Anythin' else? Somethin' to eat maybe?" Blake handed him one of their menus.
Will congratulated himself when he saw her genuine smile. Most people thought that became he was a well known football player he was stuck up and a jerk. But he wasn't. Will was a nice, respectful guy that wanted to help everyone around him. "Uh I'll have a cheeseburger and fries please. Thanks."
She nodded a little writing down his order and handing it to one of the chefs who started to make it. Glancing around she took one of the hand towels and started cleaning off the counter, though her mind was off and into some other place. She was day dreaming again and barely managed to keep from wiping a glass of water off the counter. Mumbling a quick apology she leaned over, resting her elbows on the counter then putting her chin on her hands. Their was a far away look on Blake's face as she waited for the food to be ready.
Will's phone buzzed with a phone call from his mom. "Hey mom, what's up?" He asked, taking a drink of his rootbeer. His mom went on and on about how she met this amazing girl who would be perfect for him. Will sighed, he didn't want to go on a blind date his mom set up. That would be a no. He looked over at the waitress and an idea popped into his head. "I already have a girlfriend." He said suddenly, not taking his eyes off of her. Hopefully she wouldn't mind pretending for five seconds while he took a picture of her.
Blake was resisting the urge to listen on on his conversation. As much as she wanted too, she knew it wouldn't be right. But he wouldn't be able to tell if she was listening... right? Oh well. She listened quietly before picking up the food and placed it in front of him smiling carefully. She tapped her fingers on the counter as if waiting for him to say something, but she didn't know what she wanted him to say.
Will hung up the phone, promising he would send a picture of him and his girlfriend. He looked at Blake and smiled slightly. He knew she was listening. "So...I don't have a girlfriend. Want to pretend for five seconds so I can send her a picture of us together?" He asked, smiling, praying she would agree.
"Why not" she forced a small smiled and walked out from behind the bar. "What do ya want me to do?" she asked gently tapping her nails on the counter. She couldn't help but wonder what the big deal was with her 'pretending' to be his girlfriend. "So why do you need to pretend to have a girlfriend?" Blake at least wanted to know the reasons for his actions.
Will shrugged. "I don't know. Take a Selfie with me or something." When she asked why he was doing it, Will took a deep breath. "Well, my mom thinks that I shouldn't be single and I have to date someone, so she's trying to set me up with some girl she met. And my mom doesn't know anything about matching people together." Will explained. It was so true though. His mom was pathetic when it came to that department. It was sso depressing.
She laughed ever so slightly and skated over to him, stopping about half an inch away from him. "Well then... 'boyfriend'..." she smiled and adjusted herself nervously. "I wouldn't know what that's like" she replied in response to his mother comment. She had been too young for her mother to ever try to set her up, and by the time she was old enough she was living on her own.
Will took her by the waist gently, and pulled her onto his lap. "We have to make this real...don't we?" He whispered softly into her ear, his voice deep and husky. One hand rubbed gently circles into her waist, while the other fumbled with his phone. "Pretend you are in love with me. Like you could die in my arms." He whispered again. This was gonna be easy.....hopefully.
She nodded, a strange look in her eyes. Admiration and... longing. "Yea, ok" she smiled awkwardly. Each touch sent shivers down her back but she managed to hide that. Resting her head on his shoulder, she batted her eyes looking up at him. "How's this?" she whispered, a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
Will noticed the look in her eyes, but he also noticed how perfect she fit into his arms. It was a weird thing to notice, and he knew that...but notice he did. Will shook his head. "Look at the camera." He had switched the camera on his phone so it was the front one. When she was looking at the camera, smiling, Will kissed her cheek, smiling as he snapped the picture.
She slowly slid off his lap and landed on the ground, her hands fiddling together. "How does it look?" she asked, her voice shaky at first before she straightened it out. "Does it look real?" she leaned on the counter trying to ignore the slow spread of a blush going across her face.
Will frowned slightly when she got off of his lap. It felt empty where she had been. He felt like there was a huge gap where she was. But he quickly replaced that frown with a smile. "What do you think?" He asked, showing her the picture. "And I'm Will by the way." He added, realizing that he didn't even know her name.
"It looks... real" it did in fact look real. Too real. She bit down hard on her lip and glanced up at him with a small smile. "I'm Blake" she balanced on her skates the best she could but ended up falling forwards anyways. With a small squeal she stuck her hands out to break her fall. She couldn't help but think how embaressing it would be if she fell flat on her face.
Will got onto his feet and caught her right before she fell onto her face. He held her by the waist, gently pulling her up. "Are you Ok?" He asked softly, still holding her by the waist, almost as if he was afraid she would fall again. He was.
