The Selection and The Elite by Kiera Cass. The writing is so awkward, especially the dialogue. Like who says 'my dear' ? I know Maxon is is Prince and I guess that's supposed to sound Prince-like but it just sounds... forced. And that's just one example.

I'm so sorry but I dislike the writing in Angelfall. It's far too simple and if it wasn't for the extremely dark and gory parts, I bet it would have been a children's book
The Beautiful Creatures Series, the first book I liked, the second book was torture! Everything was soooo stretched out with too much detail. Ooo and all the Vampire Diaries books after LJ Smith stopped writing them.
^ I totally agree. In Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the writing is extremely kiddy but since it's first person Percy (and it starts when he's only 12) it kind of works. But then in The Heroes of Olympus series, they're all 16 or 17 (except Hazel) but it still sounds like they're all 12. And the third-person writing is simple and dull and trying to hard to be funny and most of the time failing miserably. And I can never tell who's chapter it is. None of the characters have distinct voices. So a Percy and a Frank chapter both have the same terrible writing. And I read the first 30 or 40 pages of The Maze Runner (I downloaded the sample iBook on my iPad) and the writing was kind of... strange. I didn't like it at all.
Yes. I know that. My best friend got on saw my rating of it. She screamed at me. She told how awful I was. She said I should change them. I told her no. Anyways I left to go get us a snack. She change them. She said I should try to read them again. I said fine. So I will. But just to let you guys know I'm wouldn't say I'm afraid my best friend , but she adores Harry Potter and if she found out I change the ratings she would kill me.
I haven't read enough books, but so far I think the writing style in the 1st,2nd and 4th book of the TMI series was terrible. And I know I may be killed for saying this, but I despise so much the writing style of The Fault in Our Stars,I loved the book, but the writing made it a little pathetic despite how lovely and inspiring the plot became at the end of the book.

example: I didn't like Legend very much, but I thought the writing was fantastic.
Oh well, though. We're all entitled to our opinions, and as long as you gave it a shot, i respect your opinion whether I agree or not :).
