I am interested in hearing peoples ultimate recommendations for either a specific book, a series or an author, (and why of course).
I like discovering books and who better people to ask. :)

Hello Karen,

Do not normally reply but getting very into this site so thought I would.

I have been reading the Robert Hunter Series by Chris Carter. These are fantastic serious and really have gripped me compared to any other author I have read so far.

The film was fabulous Of Mice and Men. Malkovich outstanding.
Book is regarded as a Classic for good reason.
For a different experience, read Cannery Row, another Classic by Steinbeck, different altogether. That film was a hit as well, but haven't seen it around for years.

For a classic, the ultimate for me has to be John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men, just because it is a brilliant piece of literature that is a as relevant today as when it was written. If dark humour Is more your thing(it happens to be my thing!) then a great read (apart from my own works of course) are the books by Mil Millington. Very funny and you can always see how you might end up in a similar situation yourself!
Cheers, Ed Halliday
