"Hey Cassidy!" Vanessa called up to her. "Hey! How was your night?" "Eventful. It's a long story!"
"Well...I ran into a few vampires, another shadowhunter saved me, I saved her, then Tommy arrived and saved us then, Tommy got hurt, then a werewolf came and saved us, then he got hurt, and the other shadowhunter almost became a vampire, but the werewolf had holy water so we gave her that and now everything's fine!" Vanessa said quickly. "And here's Tommy and Jasmine!"
"Training will help burn off some of this energy. Thanks! I'll be in the training room if you need me!" Vanessa said, jogging to the training room.
Cassidy watched Vanessa rush to the training room, the days events floating in her mind. She looked down at her feet thoughtfully and head to the library.
Meanwhile, Vanessa was choosing a weapon from the weapons room. "Whatcha doin'?" a voice said from behind her. "Hey Alex!" she aid without turning around.
Jasmine snarled. She was in the training room, attacking the punching bag angrily and without proper form, ignoring the pain it caused her unwrapped wrists and fingers. The chains holding the bag up groaned as she landed a particularly forceful punch. She hated the vampires for taking her mother. She hated the warlocks for saying that there wasn't anything that they could do to save her. She focused all her hate into her blows as she continued to attack the punching bag mercilessly.
"Hey! Go with the electrum whip. It'll help calm you down," he said helpfully. "Thanks! I have to go practice.I'll see you later!" she kissed his cheek and left him standing there. She ran to the training room and opened the door, her tears streaming down her face. Why am I crying!? Why is this happening!? Jasmine turned around and looked at Vanessa. What was wrong?
Jasmine wiped her face. She eyed Vanessa. "Why are you crying?"
"I don't know! Just today, memories, everything!" Vanessa said. "Want to practice?" she then asked.
((Bye!)) Vanessa threw one towards her and grabbed her own. They both got into stance and prepared to fight.
Jamie arrived in front of the institute gate, Vanessa in his arms. She had began to become cold and he knew they had to bury her faster.
Jamie finished digging the hole and gave Lily a few moments with her soon to be undead parabatai. He then walked over and took her and put her into the grave. He and Lily both threw dirt on her until it was completely filled. "Now what?" Lily asked. "Now, we wait," Jamie replied plaintively.
"Stand back," Jamie warned. He held the animals in both of his hands, staring at the ground where they had buried Vanessa. Lily stared, enthralled by what was to occur. The ground started to shift as Vanessa crawled out of the ground.
Her skin was pale. And she had gleaming white fangs. Jamie taunted her with the animals then threw one at her. Then another and another, continuing till they were all devoured and drained of their blood. Lily wanted to move forward but she sat frozen in surprise. What happened to her Vanessa!? Vanessa wiped her mouth with her sleeve and her fangs retracted. She looked like her old self, but she was gone. "...you can't go out in daylight," Lily heard Jamie tell her and she nodded.

"Wait. Lily!" Vanessa said showing up beside her. "I'm sorry, this is all my fault. I went with Copper to save Alex and I did this to save them. I didn't think. I still hope we can be friends," Vanessa said, staring hopefully at Lily. "I-I just don't know," Lily replied looking away from her. "Okay. You know where I'll be if you need to find me. I'll make sure you're welcome."
"I'm not a monster! I'm still the same person. I'm just slightly different. Could you tell the rest of them. I can't really go inside the institute. And just for the record I'm only staying at the hotel for a few days. Then I'm renting an apartment," Vanessa said. "I hope you'll come visit me. I'll text you where it is."

"Yeah I know. I'm really sorry. But you don't have to live forever. Knowing everyone you love and care for will eventually die! I have to deal with life for who knows how long and you obviously don't care enough about me to be there. I'm sorry if me being a vampire is to rough on you but seriously! Think about someone besides yourself. I am the one who got changed. You still get to be who you are and go out and have fun! I have to stay inside and hide for a long time. You get to stay with our friends. I have to leave each and every single one of them!" Vanessa said, a tear rolling from her eye. It felt hot against her cold skin.
"Yeah. And in order for that to happen he had his memories stripped in the demon realm. And yeah, I know it's hard to believe, but I am. But I'm still your best friend. I still have emotions. I'm just different," Vanessa replied. "Maybe something will work out and I'll become mortal again but it's doubtful."
"Yeah I remember. Maybe it could work! We could always try but I still can't go in there." she replied, hopeful.
Vanessa smiled and gave her parabatai a hug. "Thanks Lily! I mean it. Can you actually bring everyone out here. So I can tell them what happened?" she asked still beaming.
"Thanks!" Vanessa said. "I'm gonna go talk with Jamie." she ran over to where Jamie was resting in the dark and waved quick goodbye.
"Yeah. I know what you're going to say and I know. I mean it obviously won't work. She didn't like being near me," Vanessa said, before he could get another word out. "I mean even if the daylighter thing works, which it might, I'll still live forever, she won't! And I'm fine with that. It might be different or new and that's okay, I just want to say goodbye." she took deep breathes then scolded herself. Vampires don't need to breath! You idiot! she thought.
"I know, Jamie. That's why I'm gonna say bye and then run. I don't want them near me any more it's just too hard. And if it's okay can I, uh, come to stay at the hotel for a few days. You know until I get an apartment. And it probably won't work. That's why I'm not gonna try," Vanessa said plaintively.
