Here is where we will post to each other!

just started the book... the first two paragraphs on page 3 really set the tone! incredible how much info the author packed into these paragraphs. he also has grabbed my attention and I'm excited to keep reading! wondering if you guys agree

The first couple pages I really had to closely read - I was confused but not that I am further in the book I can't stop

ok so I need to confess something... I didn't abide by our rules for reading. I'm in part three already and I love this book! I'm wondering what you girls think, bc it almost seems like a "boy book" even though Risa is a main character. but I am loving the constant action and switching of narrative perspectives for each chapter.

your thoughts?

I am in part three too! I like this book - I want to know where the kids are going and if they will be safe. I loved the old and how she made them write the letters. I can't believe Lev telling the lady in the office he had been kidnapped. Also we do not have to abide by the rules Kirsten already read the whole thing too!

oh ok haha in at the part where they introduce lev's new traveling companion. not sure how long they will roll together. I hate Lev his character sucks but I'm sure he will realize tithing is not as good as he thinks it is. obviously it's better to be alive lol duh

It is kind of dark. What is up with storking I hate that. And his companion is what is keeping him alive though.

don't day anymore abt Lev I need to read more!

and ya storking is baaaaad. how abt the baby who was passed around Connor's neighborhood then died. brutal

I haven't either. Jeff how far are you? I am starting to really like Risa! She is so strong and so smart.

I'm at ch 24. almost halfway thru

they just introduced the dynamic with Connor and Roland, interested in seeing where it goes!

I am beginning to see connections between Unwind and the history of the holocaust and the Underground Railroad. although I am only through 157 pages, there are many elements of these events which connect to events in the book!

I'm starting part 4 now

wow so that part was awesome! says a lot about how much Lev has changed, and the dynamic with CyFy and CyTy is nuts. definitely a fun part to read

I cant believe how the kid was taking over his brain. I wonder if thats why they unwound him for stealing crazy scene

woke up giddy and started reading right away. stuff with Lev is getting hairy

oh ya I'm at the part at the graveyard where "the mob" is introduced and stuff starts getting crazy. excited to continue reading and finish later!

ok so I'm on page 248 and I'm gonna finish it now. when Sarah is finished we can talk about the events and the ending!

Im on page 284. I knew lev was going to be at the harvest camp. Is the detonaters what clappers are reffered to ?

The part with all the people who had pieces of the admiral sound was just amazing! And I am so happy that Connor and Risa are working at the graveyard now!

I wish that Lev could have house arrest at the pastors home.

ya that would've been cool. it's also nice that is brother Marcus will be taking him in. I believe there are two more books in this series? maybe

Oh there is I would be interested in reading them! The book was great but was not as quick as a read as others.

Ya for sure. took me the longest out of all the books I've had to read this summer, from both 670 and 507.

I was thinking that the clappers when they detonated that they would wipe out the whole camp.

I would use it in the classroom. It has a lot of science terms that could be used to teach kids - things that I am not even familiar with.

love the dystopian theme and can be grouped with many other YA and literary canon works. I would use it with upper-middle school and high school.

I would like to have the kids discuss the positives and negatives of unwinding

wait wait wait.... you think there are positives of unwinding?

I agree! I loved Unwind. I think I need to read his sequels. I think there is a whole series!
