Year-long NaNo discussion

When you join, ask a moderator to make a folder with your name or the name of your writing project. That will be your personal folder, where you can post word goals, word counts, and maybe even share what you're writing! It can be as simple as just adding an update on your word count, or you can participate in all the discussions. The main goal of this group is to provide motivation and accountability to write.

Still, this seems like it could be fun, and I've got writing goals anyway, so I might as well try the water, right? ;-)

That looks like a really neat tool! I've been using Pacemaker, which has been pretty handy.

That looks awesome! I may have to use that - I like that it allows you to add goals for things like critiqueing others' manuscripts or editing!

I've started using it, and it's awesome! There are word sprints ever half hour that you can join. It's really helping my competitiveness! ;)

Hi Ivie, glad you joined! A folder is a place for you to have any threads that you might want to use. You don't have to update frequently (or at all, even), but it's a place to keep your thread(s) so they're not orphans. ;)

Hey, just saw my invite to this group. (Way late) I've been quite busy and most of my time on the computer has been spent typing.... *shrugs*

I'm kind of new to this group, and till now, I've only been commenting a little and following other writers' progress. I know were supposed to have folders of our own, but I know I'll never be updating, because I never actually type what I write into a computer, which equals = no idea of word count.
I really love being part of this group, it gives you motivation to create, but I'm afraid I'm rather not very active *sorry*.

So do you not write ANYTHING, or do you use a different ... medium, I guess? If that's the case, you could do different sorts of updates.

Maybe instead of doing word count, you could just keep track of how many pages you have written :P

Ofcourse I do write, it's just that I've always done it on paper (Still trying to get myself to type what I write on my laptop, though I find it's slower than scribbling directly on a piece of paper, and writing on paper then repeating the process on a computer will have me moving at a snail's pace)
