I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed this book. Almost all of my GR friends rated it a 3 or below and the general consensus was 'meh' but everything people complained about: the 4 POV's, plentiful flashbacks, etc, were my favorite parts of the book! The only character who annoyed me a bit was know-it-all Wells. Also, I listened to the audiobook version which was fantastic.
I have not read the books, but the TV show is AWESOME. I highly recommend it. And Amanda, I agree that the best parts of the story are the multi-POV and flashbacks, without them it would be a lot more boring :) Glad you enjoyed it!
I really love these books and I love the tv show because it's like an alternate universe. but the 2nd book is my fav in this trilogy
I love the show but haven't had a chance to read the book. I did get the audiobook from the library and hope to listen to it someday!
Yeah, I agree with everyone too! I really liked these books; though I read the series weirdly, there wasn't a first book in the library so I read the second then the third... And I probably won't go back to the first. But thankfully it didn't really impact my reading experience and I still enjoyed them.
The Tv Show is AMAZING! Bellarke:) I heard that the books are entirely different. ?I will give them a shot anyway!
Love the show and the books. The books are a bit different but still great. Waiting for my library to get book 3.
I've read all the books after discovering how amazing the TV show is.In my opinion the TV show outshines the books.
The books are great, but the TV show is amazing!!!
BELLARKE!!!!

Bellarke needs to happen!
It's annoying how the author left me hanging at the end. I'm not a fan of cliff hangers and this novel leaves me hanging with three different characters. Me no likey. But other than that, I liked this book. It makes me wanna give the T.V. show another try. I can only hope that Morgan's writing gets better with the next book in the series. It was a bit boring here but I saw potential for improvement.
After watching and loving the television series I decided to check the book out and I'm afraid to say I'm not a fan. I felt like they used what could have been a really great, interesting setting as just a backdrop for some cliched and overwhelming teen romance, and this is coming from someone who loves teen romance!! I might get some hassle for this but I'd say watch the show instead.

NO ONE HAS SET FOOT ON EARTH IN CENTURIES - UNTIL NOW.
Ever since a devastating nuclear war, humanity has lived on spaceships far above Earth's radioactive surface. Now, one hundred juvenile delinquents - considered expendable by society - are being sent on a dangerous mission: to recolonize the planet. It could be their second chance at life... or it could be a suicide mission.
Clark was arrested for treason, though she's haunted by the memory of what she really did. Wells, the chancellor's son, came to Earth for the girl he loves - but will she ever forgive him? Reckless Bellamy fought his way onto the transport pod to protect his sister, the other half of the only pair of siblings in the universe. And Glass managed to escape back onto the ship, only to find that life there is just as dangerous as she feared it would be on Earth.
Confronted with a savage land and haunted by secrets from their pasts, the hundred must fight to survive. They were never meant to be heroes, but they may be mankind's last hope.
