I kind of like the green beanies lol.

Steph Ann Hi team! How funny is it that three of us are on the same team for a different challenge? I foresee some fairy tale reads the first week or two lol.

I'm fine with Jenne being captain! And I have to admit I love Toxic Green Beans as a name. It's definitely unique. :)

message 6: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) I like that one too!
So far as strategy goes..coordinating our words is the best IMO. Depending on what time everyone checks in on Friday we can either post what all we can get or just randomly pick the items. If any of us can't check in until hours after the call I'd say lets randomly pick them. We can always focus on any of the items first that we think are tougher.

message 7: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann I agree that coordinating items tends to work best. Based on when the item call is, I should be able to check in during my son's 2nd nap of the day, which is about 2 hours after the item is called.

I'm feeling like a bit of a slacker this time around. Usually by the time teams are formed, I've put together a spreadsheet with which of my books has each item, but I haven't even started it yet. I usually end up picking a book randomly anyway, but the spreadsheet makes me feel better lol.

message 8: by Jennifer H (new)

Jennifer H As a help to Captains, I have made individual spreadsheets for each team (there are tabs at the bottom of the game spreadsheet). I will be filling them in for you so it will not be necessary for you to make a team spreadsheet unless you really want to :)

Game Spreadsheet (there is also a link in post 2 for this)

message 9: by Christina T (new)

Christina T (crysteena73) That is amazing that we are teaming up again! I'm good with Jenne being captain (you do it so well!) and I like The Toxic Green Beans and it's my first choice but The Green Beanies is cute too. I've never done the scavenger hunt where we all coordinate our words but as someone so completely anal about organization I've longed to do it! So I'm way good going that route. I work evening/nights and every weekend so my online time is around midnight on Fridays. Since I can't check in sooner than that I'm good with just having someone tell me the words I'm going for each week. I have so many books on hand that finding something that will fit shouldn't be too difficult for me.

message 10: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Sounds good Christina. I'll pm Lindy if she doesn't check in soon.

@ Jennifer I'll probably go ahead and make a spreadsheet too. I'm too OCD lol.

message 11: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Finally managed to look through some books today. So far, I'm coming up empty on wine glass and blindfold but have found everything else.

message 12: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Might need an erotica for blindfold lol. I haven't looked at all, I've become too much of a fly by the seat of my pants reader vs planned reading like I used to do.

message 13: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann I tend to be more of a fly by the seat of my pants reader as well. The OCD part of me likes knowing I have something for all the items though lol.

message 14: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) I'm almost done setting up our spreadsheet. Sent Lindy a pm looks like she hasn't been online since the day she signed up though.

message 15: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) If anyone is around will you check and see if you can see the spreadsheet from this link? Thanks!

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

message 16: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann I can see it, Jenne! :-)

message 17: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) Spreadsheet is so large, even I can see it

message 18: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Yay!

Lindy we've liked the name toxic green beans. Do you like that one too?

We're going to coordinate our items each week so we're all claiming the same things. I know you're blind would you like to post a few books each week you're wanting to read and we can search them for you?

message 19: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) i can navigate pretty well with large print on my computer, I read 3-4 books a week starting on
Henry, April Blood Will Tell
Reichs, Kathy Terminal
Carr, RobyAn A summer in Sonoma
Mallery, Susan Summer days
Kava, Alex Exposed
Barton, Beverly Silent killer
Hilderbrand, Elin The island
Barclay, James Broken Promises
Roberts, Nora Liar
Coulter, Catherine Nemesis

I have a couple more upstairs

message 20: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) What is the first items?

message 21: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) They'll be called tomorrow noon eastern time.

message 22: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Lindy would it be better for you if we just pick the items on Friday and then you can find a book to fit?

message 23: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Morning team! Today is our first call :)

message 24: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Good morning!

I'm really hoping On Demon Wings (Experiment in Terror, #5) by Karina Halle will work for whatever item is called. I finished Lying Season (Experiment in Terror, #4) by Karina Halle last night and really REALLY want to continue the series.

Although I should read one of my numerous review books. Decisions decisions lol.

message 25: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Yes it's almost criminal not to go into ODW after lying season lol. I'm rereading Red Fox...almost to the end just 5% left.

message 26: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann I'm seriously going through EIT withdrawal right now lol. I usually read at this time of day since my son is taking his first nap, and it's so hard to make myself wait for the item call rather than just grabbing my kindle right now.

message 27: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Yes once you hit that point in the series there's no stopping it. I was a mess from #3 on.

message 28: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Juice and bottle.
I've got to run an errand right quick and I'll take a look at what all I can get when I get back. Steph Ann if it's for the EIT book go for it and we'll find our words accordingly I know you're anxious :)

message 29: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) It ia now 12:30 DST and I have to go to the library, are we getting the word?

message 30: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) It's juice and bottle and we still need to work out our other 3 words.

message 31: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) it is now 1:15 DST

message 32: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) I found th;is on another website for the group

Week #1

Group D ~ Juice
Bonus ~ Bottle

message 33: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Ok group a:
Don't have wineglass, handcuffs
Group b:
Don't have scar, arrow
Group c:
Don't have currency, Silly or baked good

message 34: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Lindy that's our word and our bonus word! We've still got to figure out our other 3 words too.

What book are you wanting to read and I'll search it for you right quick.

message 35: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) I just started the long Liar by Nora Roberts which works.
Question: If we are looking for a two words they just have to be in the same sentence? Looks like that is the only one.

Format:

week 1 word
Bonus:
title/author
pages
A B C bonus with sentence it is in and page number

Is this correct? Got this from other challnges I have done

message 36: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) It is! I'll pull your book up on Amazon and see what all items we can claim and post them here :)

message 37: by Lindy (new)

Lindy (lindylee) I already did it

message 38: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Woohoo! On Demon Wings (Experiment in Terror, #5) by Karina Halle will work! :)

As for the other items, here's what I can get:

Group A: don't have wine glass, basement, ribbon, or treasure

Group B: don't have scar or arrow

Group C: don't have puppy, currency, rose, or valley

message 39: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Ok how about we go:
Curly hair
towel
fork
juice
bottle

Sound good?

message 40: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Sounds good to me! :-)

message 41: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Aww your boy is getting big! He looks like a happy little guy :)

message 42: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann He's 11 months old today! :) He's a very happy little boy! I can't believe he'll be a year old next month!

message 43: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Finished my book and once again going through EIT withdrawal lol. I'll post my review tonight when I can be on the computer rather than on my phone. :)

Hope everyone's books are going well!

message 44: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) After you finish the next one read the 2 novellas, named with madness comes the light and he Dex files. They are relevant :)

I'm almost done with mine too.

message 45: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann That's good to know! I always have a hard time figuring out if I should read the novellas that go along with a series.

message 46: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) You do with these. You probably oughta start old blood next.

message 47: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann I just read the description for old blood. I'll definitely need to read that one!

message 48: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) It explains the Jacob concept which becomes important down the road.

message 49: by Steph Ann (new)

Steph Ann Jenne wrote: "It explains the Jacob concept which becomes important down the road."

I'll definitely be reading it once I speed read through a review book. Get that book done asap so I can get right back to EIT lol.

Steph Ann Week 1 - Juice & Bottle

On Demon Wings (Experiment in Terror, #5) by Karina Halle

Read: 8/8/15
Rating: 5 stars

Review

Really, Karina Halle? You just had to end it that way? *sigh* This book was even more addicting than the previous one. I didn't think that was possible, but Karina Halle was able to do it. Where the last book focused more on Dex & Perry than creepy goings on, this one really upped the creepy factor. I spent the whole time on the edge of my seat, and if I didn't need sleep, I probably would have read straight through the night. I'll definitely be reading the next book as soon as I can!

Items

Juice: ...a glass of orange juice... KL 517

Bonus Item - Bottle: ...told us she was going to find the hot water bottle. KL 446

Curly Hair: Her pin curls bounced from the movement. KL 4726

Towel: Seconds later he had a towel and was wrapping it around me. KL 3211

Fork: He paused, his eggs balancing on his fork. KL 2453
