Natalia Tandiono (NataliaTandiono) | 18 comments The book, Night Without End by Alistar Maclean is a thriller kind of a book. The story was about a plane crash on the Polar ice cap. It was British Airways. There were only 9 passengers, other than the plane crew. The passengers were alive, but the plane crew were not exept the stewardess. The rescuers of this crash were scientists that were on the ice cap post. Soon though, Peter Maison, one of the rescuers found out that it wasn't an accidental plane crash. The pilot and co-pilot had been shot before the plane crash. There was, or were murderers among the passengers. They were in danger.
I was scared from the beginning of the reading until the end. This is one book full of suspense. The story is told not in a confusing way, so I can understand it without much difficulty. I strongly recommend this book especially someone who love suspense. Night Without End (Oxford Bookworms Library) by Margaret Naudi

Prudence Purwantoro | 8 comments Frozen pizza and other slices of life, by Antoinette Moses, is a very interesting book which tell us eight different stories about people living in a same country but from their own point of view. It also tells us eight different stories about their individual lives.
For the eight fascinating stories, all of them are individually described for the most funny, amusing and historical categories. We could also learn a lot of England's history here, how they have different kind of tradition with us here in Indonesia. This book is talking about how people handle with their life, how other people live differently from each other and how to survive life in various kinds of way.
This book can teleport you to a small town in the north of England, London or maybe to a small village with a big number of people living in their own lives.
I recommend this book to whoever of you who want to know more about human feelings. Frozen Pizza and Other Slices of Life Level 6 by Antoinette Moses

Michael Santoso | 14 comments The book, This Time its Personal, is a thriller genre book. The story is about a private investigator named Nathan Marley or Nat Marley who is trying to investigate a mysterious murderer witness. His secretary had a phone call the police department saying that her brother got arrested for murdering a Russian business man, Nat Marley wasn't happy to hear this and was willing to help his secretary solve the mysterious crime until the next day when Nat heard the Daily news that there were Russian immigrants mysteriously stranded and unconscious on the beach! When I read this book, I was always interested and tempted on what's going to happen next and also the response. I really like this book I love crime and thriller books as they are very interesting. This book also has new vocabularies for us to learn. However, if you are sensitive with adult content, i suggest you don't read this book. I strongly recommend this book for students who love thriller and crime solving mysteries. This Time It's Personal Level 6 (Cambridge English Readers) by Alan Battersby

Janemichellehartono | 15 comments This is a thriller book which is titled east 43rd street. Six days before christmas, Nat Marley, a private investigator was drinking alone at the bar. Then suddenly a blonde woman in an expensive clothes with a charming diamond necklace entered the bar and ordered a martini. She paid in a hundred dollar bill, but she left the bar without her change. Because of this suspicion, Marley followed her, so he was interested with her but lost her because of the crowded New York. The next morning, as usual he would come to his office. To his surprise, the woman came to his office and made an odd request to him that he should take a blacksuit case in a locker at the Grand Central and give it to her husband, though she had the locker's key and meet his husband daily. Why did she ask him such a thing?

This book was so interesting and thrilling. This book is also not hard to read and understand. It is also exciting that you might wanna turn over another page and soon another one. You will be interested to his actions and smart decisions so i do recommend this book to you.

Kimberly Kwandy | 14 comments Oliver Twist a book by Charles Dickens, overall about an orphan, who grew alone and no-one in particular to feed him, or even take care of him. In the year of 1980s, its hard to be a hungry little boy especially when you're an orphan. The first few chapters might be a little boring, but trust me, after reading a quarter of the book, it will be even more interesting. But little Oliver found some friends, who took care of him and even play games with him. For once, he feel happy. But his happiness was suddenly gone, once he realised what "games" did his' friends play. Will Oliver stay alive, or will it be the other way around?

One of the reason why i recommend this book, is because in my opinion, this book is overall interesting to read, and also its because this book is mostly about detective, or finding out about a crime. So I suggest who loves to read about solving mysteries, this may be a good book for you guys to read. Oliver Twist

Jasmine | 20 comments This book is so amazing that you will get caught up reading it for hours and hours. It's super interesting and full of mysteries that will leave you questioning . This book is about four mothers who were from China and came to the United States of America for hope. They tried to raise their daughters with all the Chinese beliefs and ways. I've never been so into a book this much before. I strongly recommend The Joy Luck Club to readers who would like twists, mysteries and a little bit of drama.

Jade | 9 comments I've been given this assignment to do a book review about 'Freddie's War'. This book is about Freddie; a working-class boy in England. One day he found out that many young people from foreign countries are volunteering to join the civil war in Spain. Journalism was his passion so he decided to go to Spain to write about the war.
He met Laura; a 17 year old girl from Spain who sets off on a journey with her brother Alonso to fight for their country. When they reach Spain, they didn't join the war but not joining doesn't mean that they cannot help The Republicans. So, they decided to help the paramedics by nursing the wounded. The Nationalists eventually won the war.
The life of Laura and Freddie began after the war. In conclusion, I highly recommend Freddie's War (Cambridge Discovery Readers Level 6 Advanced) by Jane Rollason this book because I feel that the book is very interesting.

Karsten Eugene | 3 comments The Woman in White is a adventure and thriller story. It is very interesting to read. However, I got confused on the characters because the intro is not that good. You may get confused while reading this book too. The climax and conclusion was good. So the book is about this person called Mr. Hartright. He was hired to teach 2 of Mr. Fairlie's daughter. When he was on the way, he found a woman in white who was going to London. After a few days, Mr. Hartright fell in love with Miss Fairlie. Miss Fairlie looks similar to the woman in white. This story has something to do with lawyers and mysteries.

I highly recommend this book for people who likes solving mysteries The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins

Neha Shinde | 15 comments As you can see here, the book’s title is Trumpet Voluntary, written by Jeremy Harmer. In the first few pages, I learnt that Trumpet Voluntary is actually a piece of music for trumpets composed by Jeremiah Clarke during the mid 1600s to early 1700s. From the title, it is obvious that this book is about music. As I was handed this book, I frowned at it because honestly, I dislike musical type of books. However, when I read the back cover where I was introduced about the story, it turned out to be thrilling and adventurous thus it excited me. Anyway, the cover page is a picture obviously in Rio de Janeiro, showing the location of the story. To sum it up, Trumpet Voluntary is about a Polish musician who all of a sudden vanishes leaving only an odd email as her trace or clue of where she might be. Her desperate, English husband, Derek revisits their shared past and has to face with unpleasant realities. His journey leads him across the world to Rio and some shocking discoveries, as well as meeting new people and together with Oswaldo, the cheery, overweight detective, they both encountered a good-looking yet dangerous man who is constantly surrounded by his armed bodyguards. In conclusion, the fictional story is all in all about Derek trying hard to find his wife without getting himself killed. This book might not be perfect to learn new vocabulary since it isn’t highly advanced in my opinion, therefore this is definitely easy to understand. I highly recommend this book if any of you are looking for light reading, this is the book that you are looking for. There is nothing much that I do not like about this book, so overall it’s pretty good. Trumpet Voluntary Book and Audio CD Pack Level 6 Advanced (Cambridge English Readers) by Jeremy Harmer

David Wirawan | 44 comments A Passage to India by E.M. Forster this book I read is called 'A Passage To India'. The genre is Human Interest, and in my opinion its is a mix of adventure with a touch of mystery. It took place in 1924 in Chandrapore, India. The story is about Adela, a young curious girl who went to Chandrapore to marry the city mayor, Ronny Heaslop. However, what she wanted in India was to see the real India. In an occasion in the Marabar caves, she met Dr Aziz who later showed her the real India and the Marabar Caves mystery. For me, I don't really find this book interesting since I don't like this genre. However I recommend this book who wants to know about India and people that likes adventures.

Valentina | 4 comments A PASSAGE TO INDIA
India in 1924 was under the rule of the British, with all the social and political problems that accompany colonialism. The British lived in their own communities and there was little social contact between the two peoples. Indians, for example, were never allowed to belong to, or even enter, British clubs.
Adele Quested, young and idealistic and impatient with theses social attitudes,is full of enthusiasm for India. She has just travelled out from England with Mrs Moore, who is the mother of Ronny Heaslop. He is the city magistrate in Chandrapore, and there is an expectation that Adele and Ronny will marry, but meanwhile Adele intends to explore and learn. She is eager to meet and talk to Indians, and to see the 'real India'
I don't really recomend this book but this book is quite interesting.

Delicia W | 16 comments Born from different class family, it doesn't make Amelia who came from rich family to stop being friend with Becky whose father is only a drawing teacher. After graduated from school, their life turned to be the unexpected. Being born in wealthy family, Amelia had the priviledge to marry a man from the same background. On the other hand, Becky had to thrive to be amongst the riches. Amelia had to face dissappointment after her dad bankrupt and had to cope with her rich boyfriend. Later, Becky was facing the same condition. Though being in similar situation, it doesn't guarantee a similar ending. Amelia's fortune may run out at the beginning, but her luck increases towards the end. Becky on the other hand, being brought into a wealthy family, had the taste of what money can bring, must live with the fact that she had to leave all of that, then having a child that she doesn't really care.

After I finish reading the book,Vanity Fair, I highly recommend the book, since it teaches us to always appreciate what we have, because nothing last forever. Neither is happiness nor sadness.

Dyah Lavia | 13 comments Pride and prejudice is a beautiful story and it's worth reading. The main focus on this story is about the relationship between Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. Mr Darcy is a wealthy person with a high social status while Elizabeth Bennet came from a not poor or rich family. They prejudice against each other but after some time they overcome their pride. Although they've been through ups and down they finally married and understand each other.

I recommend this book because it's interesting even though it's very boring at first. Pride and Prejudice (Oxford Bookworms Library Level 6) by Clare West
