The Celts especially the Irish write the best ghost stories. Sheridan Le Fanu wrote the most classic ghost stories ever. His collection of short stories about ghosts, demons, and vampires called In A Glass Darkly is his masterwork of the Victorian era ghost stories.
In A Glass Darkly you say? I'm going to have to track that down, I've been in the mood to write ghost stories lately and I could definitely use more fuel for that particular fire.
