I read this book between 2011 and 2012 but I'm sure it is much older than that. The main character is a boy who I guess could be described as an angel or a ghost, because when people die he leads their soul though a door. Once past the door there is a hallway and at one point there is a great feast where everyone that person knew is there, and at the end of the hallway there is a cell and every soul that the boy leads has to go in the cell and face themselves? After that the boy leads them to a boat (where I guess they go to heaven?) Later on he falls in love with a girl. So he makes a deal with a soul to use his dead body, in return giving the soul the key. I think the story takes place in Russia, but I not sure. Oh and after he give the key up bad things start to happen.
