For those who have loved Seraphina and Graceling comes another truly fabulous fantasy...

For five centuries, a witch’s curse has bound the trolls to their city beneath the ruins of Forsaken Mountain. Time enough for their dark and nefarious magic to fade from human memory and into myth. But a prophesy has been spoken of a union with the power to set the trolls free, and when Cécile de Troyes is kidnapped and taken beneath the mountain, she learns there is far more to the myth of the trolls than she could have imagined.

Cécile has only one thing on her mind after she is brought to Trollus: escape. Only the trolls are clever, fast, and inhumanly strong. She will have to bide her time, wait for the perfect opportunity.

But something unexpected happens while she’s waiting – she begins to fall for the enigmatic troll prince to whom she has been bonded and married. She begins to make friends. And she begins to see that she may be the only hope for the half-bloods – part troll, part human creatures who are slaves to the full-blooded trolls. There is a rebellion brewing. And her prince, Tristan, the future king, is its secret leader.

As Cécile becomes involved in the intricate political games of Trollus, she becomes more than a farmer’s daughter. She becomes a princess, the hope of a people, and a witch with magic powerful enough to change Trollus forever.

Well, I wasn't able to finish Graceling, couldn't really get into it

I liked graceling, but not the two sequels. they were terrible.

Thank you! Oh gosh Sarah don't say that la la la la I hope I like it, someone recommended it to me and said the couple in it was their favorite couple from any book so I had to check it out

I wanted to read it because it said it was like graceling, but it was nothing like graceling, and more like a fairy tale.

I didn't like Graceling, couldn't read more than two chapters, but I enjoyed this one!

I think we're quite opposite at times. I hated vampire academy, champion by Marie lu, grave mercy, and onyx, and I know you liked all of them so maybe it's a good thing that I didn't like it!

11% I'm liking it so far. I like the way it's written, the way Cecile tells her story and the mystery in it. I'm wondering so many things now, especially about the curse.

27%, at chapter 10. I wonder (view spoiler)[ whether one of the reasons to bond and marry a human, aside lift the curse up, is so that there is a change in political system and then way troll see the half-blood. (hide spoiler)]

29%, at chapter 12 (view spoiler)[ I'm kinda surprise Anais is one of the rebellion but I still think that she wants Tristan for herself. And I can't help to not think that she's a "double agent" for her father, rather than for Tristan. (hide spoiler)]

I might. I also have this on my "dying to read list". How was it? Was it better than The Winner's Curse? How about compared to Cruel Beauty?

It's way better than The Winner's Curse! and kinda reminds me of Cruel Beauty. I haven't decided how many stars will I give, though. It's either 4 or 5 stars :D

Hi guys! I started this last night so I'll be updating as I go.. I'm reading really slow this month so bare with me

Okay I'm about 11%.. It's interesting so far... mysterious for sure. It takes some serious skill to make me like "fantasy" books.. the author has to be really good at exploining all these mythological creatures so i can visualise them in my head... Right now I'm just seeing a bunch of these guys

Chapter 12 (view spoiler)[ Oh I totally forgot about this girl Anais. She is obviously the "girlfriend" of Tristan even though they are not allowed to be together... Another interesting twist to the story.
