I realized that this is an old, old thread for a book that has not gained as much reader traction as the other books. I'll raise my hand and admit that The Inheritance was only on the periphery of my radar.Recently, it occurred to me that reading a compilation of short stories by Robin Hobb and her alter ego, Megan Lindholm (or is it the other way round?) might help tide over the wait for the next F/F book.
A couple of us are starting the book soon from... next weekend? Hope you (whoever you might be) will too.

The beauty of short stories is that the end is near if the story is bad, but there is another one to read if the story is good... Actually, I am curious about Hobb's early writings and how they compare to later works. Apparently, Hobb's writing style is distinct from Lindholm's, so I'm curious about that too. (Sorry, I think I might have made you paranoid with the spoiler tags)

I read The Inheritance when it came out and overal I loved it to bits. Lindholm's stories are very different than Hobb's.
