Grayfire emerged from the warriors den and scanned the camp quickly before dashing over to the fresh kill pile.

Dreamflight was sharing a plump mouse with her brother Redtalon. She waved her tail at Grayfire in greeting before turning back to Redtalon to continue their whispered conversation. The tone seemed to be some type of bickering, but that was everyday between the siblings.
Grayfire smiled and flicked his tail sharply and happily in return. He peered down at the pile and chose a nice, meaty thrush. He padded to a nice shady place to eat, opposite from the siblings.
Redtalon grumbled and stalked off, tail kinked as he padded out of camp to go hunting.
Dreamflight smirked as he stormed off. She had won, again. She finished the last bite of the mouse.

Grayfire twitched his ears as Redtalon left Dreamflight. He smiled at her from the other side of camp.
Dreamflight caught Grayfire's smile and smiled back. She got to her feet and padded over to him. "Hello Grayfire. How's the thrush? I caught it earlier today."
Grayfire smiled and laughed a bit. "Lucky you were there to catch it." He said. "You're a very skilled hunter."
Grayfire smiled and began eating again. "Please sit." He said an motioned to the empty spot next to him.
Dreamflight nodded and sat down next to Grayfire. She peered around camp before her gaze came back to Grayfire.
"He's always cranky with me." Dreamflight protested meekly. Her tail quickly covered her mouth and she looked away shyly. "Er, well. Forget I said that!" She mumbled through her tail.
"He's just super protective!" Dreamflight began, looking up at Grayfire. The small she-cat felt tiny and she shuffled her paws shyly.
Dreamflight nodded a little, "I suppose." She flicked her tail. "He never wins our arguments though." She smirked slyly at the camp exit.
Grayfire smiled and pulled the soft tail down again. He set his paws down and looked around camp. "Whatever you say." He joked.
"It's true!" Dreamflight protested meekly. She cast a worried look over at the camp entrance, hoping her brother didn't come back soon.
Grayfire smirked and glanced down at his paws. "You should show me some hinting tactics sometime." He suggested.
Dreamflight widened her eyes, "R-really? Are you sure?" She shuffled her paws nervously, "I mean, I'm sure there are b-better cats to ask for that."
Grayfire laughed and rolled onto his side. "Of course!" He said. "Why wouldn't we be? We've known each other since the nursery!"
"W-well..." Dreamflight hesitated and shuffled her paws. "I-I don't know. I suppose you're right." She smiled shyly at him. "I hope you don't mind being my friend."
Grayfire stopped rolling around like a dog and say up. "What do you mean?" He asked. "It's an honor to be friends!"
Dreamflight's eyes widened. "Thank you!" The shock faded and she smiled more confidently, though her tail flicked closer to her face. "I'm sorry, I just..." She tilted her head, "I worry sometimes. Since I was so sick when we were kits."
Dreamflight shuffled her paws and looked around nervously. "I should probably go rest before Redtalon comes back." She began mumbling through her tail again, "I don't want him to bully you for talking to me without anyone else around."
Grayfire frowned and lashed his tail. "Okay." He said sadly. "But it is fun talking with you, Dreamflight. You're sort of my only friend."
Dreamflight padded after him, looking up at the darkening sky. "I hope Redtalon doesn't stay out too late again!" She murmured and yawned. "I think it is definitely time for some rest."
Dreamflight sat in camp, off to the side and mostly out of sight. She surveyed the damage that was still evident from the badger attack. She sighed wistfully and looked up at the sky. Even though she couldn't see the stars because it was day, she wondered if Mossleaf made it to StarClan safely and was watching over her. She frowned sadly and traced small lines in the loose dirt.
Grayfire sat at the edge of camp and stared deep in the forest, thinking. The wind blew his fur from his face and he stood up. He turned around slowly to see Dreamflight on the other side of camp. He sighed and looked at her, sitting down again only this time to face her. She looked sad, but was still as beautiful as could be.
Dreamflight shook her head and told herself that Mossear wouldn't want her to mope. She got to her paws and sniffed at the large gash in the elder's den. The badger had tried to get inside for an easier meal. Her sister had died stopping it. She ran a small paw over the hole and looked around for any lose sticks or rocks to fill it with. Certainly the elders wouldn't want a draft.
Grayfire watched Dreamflight move into the elders den. He noticed her eyes dart around the den. Probably looking for anything to repair the large hole. He sighed and stood up. Grayfire walked over to her and started to pick up loose bramble scattered about.
Dreamflight's ears perked up when she noticed Grayfire was also up and about. She smiled and dipped her head gratefully as he brought over some bramble. "Thanks Grayfire." She called with her soft voice. She was surprised to see another cat in camp though, most were out on patrols. She had been excused for a few days to grieve, but Dreamflight found sitting around doing nothing to be counterproductive to her clan.
