I think I'm going to read The Inheritors - a book about the fateful meeting of the Neanderthals with the Homo Sapiens from the point of view of the Neanderthals .
I can very much recommend The Spire - in which an abbot believes that he has been chosen by God to build a massive Spire on the medieval cathedral in his charge - regardless of the cost to man and building

I'll read The Spire, I think you recommended it in the monthly author thread a while ago and I found it very cheaply second hand. Looking forward to it.
I already have the inheritors and thoroughly enjoyed my first reading of it so I am going to read it again. I simply must cut down on what I spend on books. However, I will keep an eye open for a cheap copy of the Spire as well!
The Spire is something that has been on my TBR list for years, so I am going finally going to read that
Hilary, I've just looked and also got lord of the flies, pincher martin and rites of passage if you're very keen!
