brobdingnagian--a literary word for huge or giant.
verisimilitude--reality/state of being true

googolplex--one of the really big numbers
chartreuse--a shade of green

mediodia (with an accent mark over the last I)--12:00 P.M. in Spanish.

nonlinear, Pythagorean--both math terms

dast--in the old book I'm reading. I think it means dare.

deus ex machina--more of a phrase than a word, but means a too-convenient end to a book.

domingo--another Spanish word, means Sunday.

aioli--a sort of sauce? I know it's a cooking term, anyway.
ellipsis--...

bildungsroman--a coming-of-age story

scion--a descendant (I think)
nautilus--a type of underwater creature

saccharine--too sweet
kitschy--I think it means quirky and old-fashioned? Just looked it up--the meaning is actually 'tacky or lowbrow'.

exegesis--"critical explanation or interpretation of a text, especially of scripture". Bible study, basically.

immaculate--clean or pure

The state or quality of being inactive, lazy, without diligence, disinclination to action or labor.

The ridiculously long one Sophie posted is the chemical name for titan (aka connectin), a human protein, and the largest known protein.

And the one I posted is a type of lung disease caused by silica dust.

Not words that you use ever! Imagine getting a letter that you saw was supper long then opening it and reading- Dear Mary Kate, I was just worried that you weren't getting enough- and then a few pages of gibberish that you couldn't understand!
