Hmm. I don't know. I never read any of Sherlock Holmes to compare the two characters. Interesting observation.

Shell | 5 comments Lauren, I too have watched this on Netflix, and I thought they mentioned a sister but there was none. While reading this I hear Poirot and Hastings voices. I enjoy it.

Yes I was reminded of Sherlock Holmes too. Giraud has some Sherlock-like qualities and this made me consider how unlike Sherlock Poirot is.

On the subject of parodies has anyone seen the movie Murder by death with the Marple and Poirot parodies? Watched it last week. I highely recommend it.

Randee Baty I love Murder by Death! I rewatch it at regular intervals.

Laura | 5 comments I just finished this one. It was certainly twisty! I have a hard time seeing how Poirot and Hastings are such friends, especially the way Hastings acted in this book. Overall, 4 stars!
