Drop Everything And Read discussion

My name is Rebecca. I was a real book worm when I was a kid, but over the years my reading has become sporadic. Now I want to delve back into reading. I still love reading and writing and, if I want to get serious about either again, surprise surprise, I need to read more. So here I am!

I'm rediscovering my tastes (understandably, I think), but I'm loving Divergent and have read and loved Drowning Mermaids, Pegasus (finish the next 2, please Robin McKinley?) and the Giver- fully intend to be there opening night!

After I finish Divergent, I intend to read the Hunger Games. At the moment, I've only seen the movie. My current authors are Judith Pella, Robin McKinley, Anne McCaffrey, and a few others (lists inconclusive as my tastes develop).

Hi, I'm Roni and I am a lover of books. I love to read anything that can hold my attention which is mostly fantasy, mystery, YA, some sci-fi, and most definitely the classics. I am trying to open myself up to more non-fiction writing but as I have told my mom the entire point of reading (for me) is to find new worlds and sometimes slip into that fantasy when life is too much. My favourite books would be Jane Eyre, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Outsiders, A Winkle in Time, the Harry Potter series, and the Dark Tower series.

Some favourite authors are. J.K Rowling, Enid Blyton, Lisi Harrison, Hilary McKay and so much more. I love to read books that pull me and makes me part of the book as a character like mysteries,fantasy, Spy thrillers.

I like reading fantasy, YA/NA, and contemporary. And oh, I'm definitely a romance junkie. I also love discovering other genres.
Some of my favorite books are Me Before You, Making Faces, TFiOS(no matter how famous it gets), Puddle Jumping, and The Mortal Instruments series.

Hi everyone, My name is Barb. I live in PA. I love reading a lot of different genre's. I have a group called "All About Animals" where we read only books on all types of animals, birds, etc.

I seen Anamika on another group I belong to and noticed her group and thought I'd join in.

Even though I'm in my early 50's I still enjoy reading YA books too. Some of them are actually better than the adult books.

I guess the only types of books I don't read is western's or horror. However, I don't like to read Stephen King but I love listening to his books on audio.

I listen and read both. I love audio books that have different readers for different people in the book. Jodi Picoult does that in her books a lot. If she has 5 characters she has 5 readers. It's great cause you know the voices.

Not sure what else to say here. Other than reading, I do a lot of scrapbooking type crafts. I have two rescue dogs I got from the shelter.

My favorite author right now is Angela Hunt. I love her books.

I joined because Anamika has done such a great job of setting up the group for encouraging participation… including my favorite section, Games!

I have read the classics and modern fiction including everything from wordless graphic novels to myths/legends/fairytales to scifi to magic realism to historical novels to YA to adventure to non-fiction technology and everything in between.

However, right now I only read gay fiction and M/M romance books because I only want to read something escapist and light. Well, yeah and because I'm gay so it's a world of books I understand. (I have to admit to I do still read scads of dry, practical technology stuff.)

Later at age 9 I was sent back into a overly abusive situation which my books y writing were my outlet, friend y solace.
