Byrne had been sitting in the cafeteria, waiting for a friend of his. Well, he only had one friend, and that was Declan. He was honestly Byrne's best friend, and he didn't feel like he needed any other friends other than him. Anyways, he was eating an apple as he sat at a table, sighing softly. Where was Declan at?
Declan entered the cafeteria with the usual air of his. Confidence radiating out of him. He waved at Byrne when he spotted him and went to join him. "Hey," he said
Byrne smiled and waved back, taking another bite of his apple. "Hey," he said after he swallowed. "Where have you been? I waited for quite a while," he asked with a smile, his accent thick. Since coming from Russia 5 years ago, Byrne had learned a lot from Americans.
"Oh, just outside," he said. He had been smoking again, but he made sure it was not in school grounds. He had popped a mint into his mouth before coming back to hide the smell. "So, how was your day?"
"Pretty good so far. But it was kind of lonely without you around," he said happily. "I guess it's because you're my only friend." Byrne looked curious as he looked at Declan, "Wait, what were you doing outside?"
"Don't be emotion. You know I don't handle emotions well." He took out his fork and start to swirl it in the cup of instant noodles he had just made. "We'll, you know the usual," his voice got low to a whisper, "smoking."
Byrne chuckled, "Sorry, sorry..." he then frowned when Declan mentioned he had been smoking again. He didn't't like when Declan smoked, it made him smell gross, well, at least Byrne thought the smell was gross. He sighed, "Declan, you know how I feel about you smoking..." he said softly, looking at him seriously.
He continued eating his noodles. "I know. I am sorry." Declan was actually sorry about this. He tried not to smoke regularly but he was having a bad day with all the family drama so he chose to relieve the stress.
Borne sighed again, "I know...I just don't want you to end up getting sick from smoking..." he said, smiling a bit at him, "I know you don't mean to do it, and I'm sorry, I've been pushing you about it..."
Declan was playing with food now. He liked to be in a healthy diet, and noodles were not healthy. "Yeah..." he said. His eyes twinkled and he smiled as he asked the next question, "What are doing later tonight?"
"Nothing much...just cleaning the house up a bit, then making dinner. Why? Did you want to come over?" he asked. Byrne was smiling with excitement. He was always happy when Declan came over.
Declan wanted to go out and spend time with Byrne. But he was all right with hang out with him at his house. He was all right with anything as long as they were together. "Yeah," he said.
"But if you want we could go out later. But I have to do this things first." Byrne smiled, standing up to throw his apple core away. He was glad that he would get to hang out with Declan.
"No. It's okay," Declan said. He picked up. His cup of noodles and threw it away.
Byrne shrugged, "Okay, if you insist," he said. He looked up as he heard the bell ring, frowning a bit. "Looks like we have to go to class..." he muttered. But then he looked at Declan, "Unless we skip? W don't have to, though."
As the bell rang, Declan made a sad face. He hated school. "Well, I mean I don't wanna get you in trouble. But I would mind skipping the next class," he said with a wink and started walking out of the cafeteria.
Byrne grinned at the wink, "Then I guess we'll meet up again after school," he said, chuckling a bit. He let out a small yawn, "I'm definitely going to fall asleep in English...I know I shouldn't, but I don't understand all the terms and it's boring..."
"Okay then," Declan said. He was almost out of the cafeteria. "Just text me, when you want to meet up." He took his phone and started texting someone as he continued to walk.
((You wanna do like a time lapse to the evening?))
