Ca (ca784) I am very much in love with everything Robin Hood related but sadly, the books I know of about the man are focused on very young readers. Do any of you know some good (not children's)books about Robin Hood?

We read Hood as a group read a few months ago.

Robin McKinley wrote The Outlaws of Sherwood, and though it wasn't my favorite book by her, it's still passable.

Robin: Lady of Legend has been mentioned on the forum a couple of times too.

I also read a couple of collections of the original Robin Hood ballads last year and enjoyed them.

There's also a Listiopia of retellings here. Some adult, some ya, some childrens, but it should give you some ideas...

Parke Godwin's work was pretty good.

I've thought of another one I really enjoyed.

Jackaroo

While it's not precisely a Robin Hood retelling, it's very similar and it looks at how legends like the Robin Hood story might have gotten started.

Cher 'N Books (cher_n_books) It is not a proper Robin Hood based novel or retelling, but I just finished The Lies of Locke Lamora and the main character robs from the rich which put me in mind of Robin Hood. It was a great novel if you enjoy that type of story. My review is here if you are interested: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Your review makes it seem like a book I might like Cher. I've added it to my. To read list.

IT is a fun book. I bought the third book recently, but I keep putting off reading it because a)no telling how many years it'll be before book 4 with how delayed book 3 was and I don't want to be stuck with yet another cliff-hanger ending for that long.

Well, that and there's some rather mediocre reviews about the Locke/Sabetha thing...
