I'm curious: Which story was your favorite? Which was your least favorite? Why?

Least favorite was when they felt they had to kill the elephant. That bothered me a WHOLE lot.

Most favorite: Probably the ones that had Jennie in them. She was a lot of the foundation of the circus.

My least favorite was "The Jungle Goolah Boy," which was told through various historical papers, letters, etc. Yeah, it was a clever way for day to write about him, but it also felt a little gimmicky and made for tiresome reading.

My favorite was "Lonestar Cowboy," with Stella and Wayne moving to Lima and the accident with the gun. I thought Stella was fascinating and the nuances of her relationship with her husband and also her two sons was riveting.
