Once they arrived at Damien's house Ashton followed him to his front door. He was always jealous of his house, since he basically felt like he himself didn't have a home. He lived in the penthouse of one of father's hotels. Not that it wasn't nice, but it lack the homey feel that having a actual house did. He didn't have a front door to welcome him everyday, instead her had a lobby. Sure, he had grown up there after his mother died, but it was lonely. Yes, he was surrounded by room service, his butler, maids, but honestly none of them, except of Boris, truly cared for him. He almost felt like he was on vacation everyday, where you didn't have to worry about cleaning up, or anything, because strangers were going to fix it when you were away. He would give anything to live in the home he did when he his mother was alive, but his father was quick to sell him. Probably, trying to lessen the pain, but he knew it didn't help and that his father regretted it after.
It wasn't too long until Damien and Ashton arrived at Damien's place, the large building that housed a total of only four penthouses. It was a rather exclusive area to live in but it still had a bit of a homey feeling. He could recall when they'd first moved in. Back in Atlanta, they'd lived in their own home; a large backyard, fence surrounding the entire grounds, and more space than they knew what to do with. When they came to New York however, Damien's father got in touch with one of his old college friends that had converted an old office building into some of the most expensive penthouses around. It had taken a lot of getting used to. Though their new home was two stories, there wasn't nearly as much space. But somehow they made a home of it, and Damien had a hard time leaving it every now and then. It was his sanctuary away from the parties, the gigs, and the school life that left him more than drained. As soon as he led Ashton into the building and made the trip up the elevator, Damien went right for the kitchen when they stepped out. "You want anything to eat before we need to head out?"
"Yes. And you can a have some coffee, bro?" Ashton asked, as rested his elbows against the cool white marble counter tops with a embarrassed grin. He had already had two cups today, but totally needed one more to survive the rest. He had a slight addiction to coffee especially during the weeks he decided to spend isolated from the world, like last weekend. Truly, his body was still recovering from his sleepless nights. He made another mental note to make sure to sleep for the next few days since,of course, he once again was going to be up all night. He had a huge test coming up at the end of the week as well, and couldn't fix sleeping through it, "I have a coffee addiction. I know. I know," he admitted with a sigh before his friend could tease him about it.
Damien looked towards his friend over the tops of his glasses before removing them and tossing them on the counter. How many cups of coffee had Ashton had at the cafe? He was sure it wasn't a healthy amount but he wasn't his friend's mother. Though he did open his mouth to comment, Ashton had already beat Damien to the punch. "The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem," he said with mock solemnity. He let his bag slide to the floor before going first to the sink to turn on the coffee maker, then to the fridge in search of food. The thing about his family was-- everyone was always too busy to do any actually cooking. Though the fridge was always fully stocked, it was mostly ingredients for dishes that would never get made and leftovers from take out. "Alright, we got...half a pepperoni and bacon pizza, some shrimp lo mein and sweet and sour chicken, and-- Oh yeah, mom made a roast chicken the other day."
"I've complete the hardest step, my friend," Ashton chuckled, as he waited impatiently for the coffee, tapping his fingers against the counter almost making a consist beat, "Bacon and pepperoni. Damn, obviously the pizza, Caine," he stated, as excitement rose to his eyes. He was a completely unhealthily eater and spent most of his time eating pizza. It was a shock his stayed this fit, consisting he ate like a completely obese individual, "So who are you hoping on running into tonight?" he asked, as he absentmindedly ran a hand through his disheveled dark brown locks, cocking his head to the side and wiggling his brows playfully. He was basically asking who we you planning on taking home tonight. Not that Damien would have a problem in getting anyone in bed, it was almost his speciality. Girls seemed to adore his charm, and basically tried to rip his clothes off.
"Now we just gotta get a sponsor and you're all set!" He exclaimed in a joking tone, clapping his hands together to emphasise his point. This wasn't the first time they'd had this joking conversation; not too long after they'd become friends, Damien had learned about Ashton's 'addiction' to coffee. From that day on he constantly teased his friend about it and they'd developed this back and forth. Slender fingers took hold of the pizza box and moved to set it on the counter before Ashton. "Hey hey hey, I'm tryin' to be a good host and give you option," he said with a childish huff before returning to the fridge. He grabbed the sweet and sour chicken along with a bottle of Sprite for himself, closing the door and going to check on the coffee. He pondered over his friend's question as he did so, a slew of images each with a different girl playing through his mind. "No one in particular," which was true; with Damien as long as they had a pretty face and weren't clingy? He wasn't all that picky-- until recently. But that was one thing he wasn't going to be saying out loud. "I do remember this one chick from the bar last night-- Not her name but what she looks like. Blonde, curvy, and looked like her clothes were painted on. You know, my type." He snorted out a laugh, turning off the coffee maker when it signaled it was done. "I'd ask you the same but let me guess. Gwen?"
"Can my sponsor be hot?" Ashton asked as he wiggled his brows in his best mates direction playfully, before he started to devour the pizza that laid in front of him. Damien and Ashton both teased each other about every little possible habit, addiction, or opinion the other had, but yet somehow the both knew not to take the other seriously. Still, they could switch from a playful conversation and to a serious conversation in an instance, and the other would someone know. It was almost like they had a radar the stretch from 'hey. i'm joking' to 'bro. I'm serious.' This allowed fighting between them to be completely rare, but they did argue like any normal pair of friends, they weren't completely perfect. "Sounds like you man. You surely haven't changed. If you run into her, but sure to find out her name this time," Ashton chuckled, as he took another huge bite of his pizza be replying with his mouthful, "Is it that obvious?" Then he heard the beep of the coffee maker and almost jumped up out of his seat in excitement and started to bounce up and down impatiently, "Bro, shit. I pour my a cup. Hurry up."
He rolled his eyes at the question and turned to one of the drawers to retrieve a pair of chopsticks. A thin layer of tension from the cafe still lingered over them-- at least for Damien, even as their joking conversation continued. Worries for everything that may happen, won't happen, would definitely happen at the party. Questions on how to go about watching over the girls-- without actually watching them. It wasn't as if serious conversations were few and far between with the pair, but Damien knew very well how that conversation would go. Ashton would be left far too stressed, and Damien would spend the entire night trying to keep him in check. Digging into his sweet and sour chicken, he quickly nodded his head in agreement. "Trust me, if she'd there I'm not leavin' until I know her name-- Or without her, whichever is easiest," he drawled with a smirk tracing his lips. He snorted out a laugh then and quirked a brow. "It couldn't be any more obvious if it was tattooed on your forehead." With that, he went to grab a mug and filled it with coffee before Ashton could leap over the counter with how impatient he was. "Dude, you're like a five year old hopped up on aderall," he said before setting the mug on the counter.
"IF if she tells you her name," Ashton started with a soft chuckled, "You won't remember by the morning." It wad funny because it was true. Damien barley ever remembered the names of the girls he's slept him, but to be honest either did most of the guys in high school. As he grabbed another slice of pizza, he couldn't help but let his mind wonder to thoughts about the party. About Reese at the party to be exact. He didn't think she was ready to go to a party where all the temptation would surround her, and where she was be a huge temptation to all the guys around her. He needed to get his mind off the party, "Ha, ha. So funny," Ashton responded, as he over dramatically waved his hands in the air but seriously stating, "But do you think so knows?" He was worried that she would realize that he liked her, and it would scare her away. He bit his lip nervously, as he pondered of all the ways she could break the news to him. Once he set down the coffee he practically lunged for it. He took a small, but cautious sip, trying not to burn his tongue, like he did at the cafe, "I'm not that addiction." His mind quickly wondered back to thoughts about the party. He needed a conversation topic that would distract him. Girls Girls always distracted him from his daily problems, why not try them now. "But honestly, out of all the girls at Constance Billard, who do you think is the hottest?"

((Lol sorry. I have a horrible memory so I tend to kept the same characters till I get bored and then completely change them. ;) But its even worst because I use the same actors but for different characters sometimes. #mabad :P I'm a horrible person))
((Semi Asshat Ashton ;) He just wants to be loved. But yes this might get confusing very quick :P Probably should of thought this through ))
"When she tells me her name. Trust me, I got a plan." Damien shot back with nothing less than confidence, clearing his throat soon after with a nonchalant shrug. "Hey," he began while grabbing a few noodles from the carton with his chopsticks, "you never know. She might leave....an impression or somethin'." However, he knew that that wasn't all that likely. Though it wasn't all that strange for most of the guys he knew to never remember the name of any girl they'd had in their bed the night before, Damien had his reasons. None of them ever really stuck out to him; one girl was just the same as the one before that and the one before that and so on. Eventually they all just...began to blur together. All that aside, while stuffing the mix of noodles, veggies and shrimp into his mouth Damien saw that look of worry enter his best friends eyes once more. And thank god he didn't choose to speak on it.
Once finishing off his mouth of food, he set down the carton to take a drink of his soda. "Man, if she can't see somethin' that obvious you might be barkin' up the wrong tree," he advised his friend before taking a drink. Damien nearly choked on the carbonated drink when Ashton asked him the question, quirking a brow at the randomness of it. "You seriously want me to choose? You've seen the girls from that school; all of them were practically born to stand in front of a camera for one reason or another." He did take a moment to ponder over this, various faces with mental name tags running through his mind. "I mean, that Alxandra girl was pretty hot. Then there's Autumn Capulet-- even though she'd probably piss me off in two minutes. Ah, and Keira Avery." Damien shook his head then with a quick laugh. "Somethin' about a chick that could probably kick my ass you know? Then of course Reese is hands down one of the most beautiful there so--" He cut himself off then with a clearing of his throat, downing another sip of his soda. "Anyways, I should probably change before Aurora gets here and we go pick up the girls."

Ashton rolled his eyes in his friends direction, he knew that this girl would the same as all the rest. A one night stand, nothing more. Ashton was a bit different that Damien when he came to girls, he enjoyed the chase, surely every guy did. Once things got serious, he would break it off, not because he got bored of them, but because he was terrified. Terrified, that someone might be able to peal away all of his layers, and see what a true mess he was inside. That was the last thing he ever wanted to happen, because he knew once someone learn about all of him, and his baggage; they would head right out the door without turning back. It was almost like he was trying to protect the girls from himself, though in their perspective he just looked like a douche, "My goal, tonight, is to figure out if she's into me or not that then work from there," he responded as he took another sip of his coffee, "It can't be that obvious, I mean I've been trying to hide it."
Ashton continued to drink his coffee as he nodded in agreement to Damien's answers. Alexandra was hot, and Autumn. Oh, and Keira, Damn. Reese- Reese? he thought. Once Reese's name came into mention he almost choked on his coffee. He started to pat his chest as he coughed, almost as if it was going to help. Once he recovered he rose his brows in Damien's direction, "So, you think Reese is hot?" His protective fatherly aspect of his personality started to shine. No offence to Damien, but there was no way in hell we would allow him to even touch her. Even thinking about him thinking of her like that almost made him angry. He could fool around with who ever he wanted but not Reese. Calm down, Ashton. He didn't say he was going to do anything, he told himself, as he let out a deep breath, trying to erase his mind of those thought. He awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, before trying to flash his friend a grin, "I'll wait here while you get changed bro." He glanced down at what he was wearing a white v neck, a plaid long sleeve, black raybans, light brown beanie, and a pair of black skinny jeans. He shrugged down at his outfit. It was good enough for the party. His phone buzzed. It was from Reese, we are done, bitch "Shit," Ashton groaned as he read his text messaged, "Reese is done getting ready."

Once Damien was finished with his food, he began cleaning up what little of the kitchen they had actually utilized. His mind was wandering far more than he would've liked it to. Would he seek out the girl from last night at the party? Most likely. Would he leave with her? It was possible. And some part of himself felt-- almost sick. Damien often wondered how his parents would react if they knew everything he was up to. As far as they knew, he was still their sweet little boy from back in Georgia. But to say he was completely different wasn't right either. All of this-- the way he acted with people he didn't know, the flirting and the sleeping around, the partying-- all of it was just an act for him. He wasn't even fully sure if his closest friends knew that much, and there was some part of him that wanted to scream it out but...lord only knew that wouldn't happen. It was a rather quick clean up since the only dish used had been Ashton's mug. Forcing out a chuckle he hoped sounded genuine, Damien turned back towards his friend and said, "Bro, you look at her like she built the Eiffel Tower...by herself-- with her bare hands."
Damien froze when Ashton picked up on his use of Reese's name, heaving a sigh at the tone in his friend's voice. No one knew it was better to never cross that line than Damien did. Even if, by some chance, he developed feelings for Reese he'd never go there. Not even because he was afraid of Ashton, but more he wouldn't ever put her through-- well, himself. "Hey hey, chill dude," he admonished while raising his hands in surrender. "You already know I wouldn't even go there when I got too much shit I need to get together." Grabbing up his still half empty plastic bottle, he headed out of the kitchen only to turn as if remembering something. "If the Princess gets here before I'm done, just let her in, yeah?" Princess, of course, referring to Aurora. Just as Damien was making his way up the stairs to his room, he heard Ashton's comment. As a reflex he swore under his breath and continued on. "She's never gonna let me live this down," he muttered to himself just as a knock came at the front door.

((That is officially my favourite line ever. with her bare hands. Just made it better. crying ;) ))
"Over exaggerating," Ashton chuckled at his friends comment about the Eiffel Tower. There was no way he would be that obvious. Maybe.. Shit, he cursed himself, as he realized that Damien was probably right. He made a mental note to make sure to tone himself down around her, the last thing he wanted to do was to scare her away. He leaned his hands against the counter as he leaned to face him and then in a matter-of-factly tone, "I'm not saying it to be a douche. I mean it's not like I'm trying to say you're a bad guy....It's just... she's fragile." Sure, he is over protective of Reese but it isn't because he doesn't think she can protect herself. It's because he wouldn't want to risk having a repeat of the past. He shook his head, almost as if it would help shake the thoughts of her addiction years out of her head, along with her recovery stage. He quickly looked away from his friend as he nodded at his comment, "I'll let her in, bro." He texted Reese back, Be there soon, whore. ;) If someone where to look at Reese's and his relationship it would almost seem as if they were a couple. Most of his past girlfriends have been threatened by her presence in his life. Of course, if he ever had to choose between Reese, and a girl; Reese would always win hands down because they were more than friends: they were each others family. Through all the rough patches they have been there to help the other one onto their feet. Without Reese, Ashton would feel incomplete. Once his friend was roughly about halfway up the stairs he heard a knock. He basically bolted towards the door, and opened it in hope it was 'Princess'.

(( Bahaha I thought it fit well. I'm glad you liked it ;) ))
Aurora stood before the Caine's door waiting for it to be opened, rocking slightly back and forth on her heels. It had been some time since she'd last come here on her own; more often than not she would tag along with her brother. Which was why she found it a bit odd that Damien had asked her to join his friends for the party-- But then again... After her older brother had thrown a fit over the whole thing, Aurora was positive he had had something to do with it. Either way she was just glad she wouldn't have to go on her own to a Tyson Wilson party. While she still had time, she inspected her chosen outfit once more; a red vintage looking dress that stopped midthigh, black fishnets, matching red pumps and a black clutch to top it off (view spoiler) She was just checking on her hair, which was up in a high ponytail, when the door opened. "D.C.-!" She chirped only to find someone else on the other side of the door. "Oh! Hey, Ashton."

All while he was getting ready, Damien couldn't help but think over Ashton's words. He didn't need to be told that Reese was fragile; even though he didn't know the whole story, he knew enough. He cared far too much about her to ever put her through the disaster that was Damien Caine. "Which is why I told myself a long time ago I wouldn't fall for her," he muttered to himself while changing out of one black on black outfit for another. In all honesty, Damien wasn't too sure when it had become his thing to dress primarily in black. It had just seemed-- fitting after his family relocated to New York. Long sleeved tee, skinny jeans, and boots-- all black. Just to add a slight bit of variety, he grabbed a black and white jacket that was primarily the latter (view spoiler) . Taking another moment to make sure his bangs were swept to the side just right, Damien headed out of the room and was pulling on the jacket as he made his way down the stairs. A very familiar, peppy voice reaching his ears. "I see the princess has arrived!" He called out when he was half way down, adjusting his clothes as he went.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

((;) its my fave thing :) feeling better? :O ))
"You look lovely, Aurora," Ashton responded with a cute boyish grin, "Better not be disappointed I'm not Damien. I personally believe I am much better company," he chuckled as he let her inside, unsure of how long Damien was going to take to get ready. She was beautiful in an adorable way, since he could only ever view her as a innocence little girl, even though she was only two years younger. He thought maybe it was because of her past, or possibly because of her over protective brother. Either way, he wasn't going to try and start anything with her. A familiar voice quickly sounded through the room, and he looked up at the staircase, and saw Damien, "Look who's finally done," he teased with a playful wink in his direction, though Damien hadn't taken that long. He felt his iphone buzz in his pocket and pulled it out to view a message from Reese, Hurry your ass up. He couldn't help but chuckle before rolling his eyes, "You guys ready to go pick up the girls? I swear Reese is about to murder me."

"I think I'd be way more disappointed if D.C. answered while you're here," Aurora answered in a joking tone before stepping into the lavish penthouse. Ashton was one of her brother's, and Damien's, friends that she hadn't spent too much time with. She'd met him at various parties, family held and otherwise, but had never gotten much time to get to know him. But, thanks to Caleb, she had a feeling she would never get all that close to any guy outside of Damien. She opened her mouth to ask where he was, when his familiar rumbling voice drifted into the foyer. Dropping her voice to a stage whisper, she leaned towards Ashton and said, "But don't tell him I said that. You know, his ego and all."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I heard that!" Damien reached the two not too long after both of their comments, his phone held between his ear and his shoulder as he stuffed his keys into his pocket. "Yeah, I'm ready. I'm just callin' a car since one, neither you or I will be sober. And two, I don't want anyone touchin' my baby." By which he meant his car. It had been a sixteenth birthday present, and had quickly become his most precious possession-- other than his collection of guitars. Generally Damien got around on his motorcycle, seeing as he rarely had more than one other person to drive around, but his car was definitely his favourite. He muttered out a thanks into the phone, holding out his arm for Aurora which she hooked her own through before heading for the door. "Yeah, I'm ready to pick 'em up. Not ready to hear Reese's gloating though."
He flashed her a soft grin as he nodded in agreement to her comment about his ego. Ashton chuckled softly as they playfully bickered. It would be impossible not to see that Damien, and Aurora were close. They teased each other, but you could tell Damien was protective of her, not to the same extent as Caleb, but fairly similar. "Weren't trying to hid it from you," he responded as he whipped his head around to face his best mate. What Damien said was true. There was no way he would go to a party and end up not getting drunk, it just didn't happen. He didn't see the point in partying if you weren't going to drink, they go hand and hand. This is what made him worry about Reese, and her temptation to fall off the horse. He tried to over up his worrisome face with a playful smile, "Looks like you have to drive her around all, what was it, a whollleee weekend?" He laughed as he patted his friends back as they headed out. He quickly replied to Reese, On our way
((post on Reese's topic? :) ))
I knew it... The girls weren't even five feet away before Ashton went about his questioning, earning him an amused shake of Damien's head in return. He wasn't going to talk about this where the girls could here him. He didn't particularly want to talk about it at all, but he knew he needed to. "Dude, don't worry there is no 'Reese and me.'" Damien waited until they were at his front door before answering, not wanting any unwanted eavesdroppers. Once they were inside he removed his jacket and slung is over his arm, tossing his keys on the table by the door. He walked through the apartment, turning on various lights as he went, and once he reached the living room he dropped down onto a couch. "Do you want me to be honest? Or do you want me to keep you from jumping to conclusions?" Right after he asked, his phone suddenly went off and he already knew what that alert was for. He pulled his phone from his jacket pocket and was hesitant about reading it but had a feeling at least one thing would be about him. It always was at these parties. But his eyes practically bugged out his head when he read the entire post-- specifically the first two paragraphs. And even more specifically, the second. "Caleb....is gonna kick my ass."
"I want you to be honest. I promise I wouldn't be an asshole about it," Ashton stated but then thought about it for a bit, "Okay. I might be an asshole about it, but I won't harm you in any physical way." He kicked his shoes off, leaving them at the door, before following his friend into the living room. He plotted down on the couch next to him, as he felt his phone go off as well. He started to read it thankful there was no plot twist about his time spent at the party. Once he read the second paragraph he turned towards his friend, "You are so done," he stated as he realized that his comment wouldn't help him, "Maybe he doesn't even read gossip girl. I mean...," He thought about it for a second and he gave up trying to help his friend and let out a sigh, "I'm sorry, bro. But you can't get your way out of this one." He patted his friends shoulder almost as if to wish him good luck. Caleb was going to skin him live and they both knew it. She had gotten close to Tyson, and Damien was screwed.
Honesty. Being honest about feelings. Neither were anything Damien was good at, but what could he do? He wasn't going to lie directly to his best friend's face and he had already thought about possible responses to this right? "Okay, if you're sure," he mumbled before clearing his throat. "I care about Reese, alright? Which means...I care too much to ever go after her knowing I'm a damn mess. And to be honest, I don't know how I feel about her. I just know that I care about her and...I always want what's best for her. And with how I am now, that's not me." That was about as open he would ever get about-- well, anything. It felt somewhat nice to have that off his chest. But he still had other problems on his hands. As his best friend prattled on, he felt his mental stability decreasing more and more. Because he had been so determined to prove Ashton wrong about-- what the hell even was her name? --and being too concerned with Reese and other guys, he'd broken his promise. And now he and Aurora's reputation were going to pay for it. He slumped over on his side onto the couch, the thought of just rolling off the side of the earth looking rather appealing. "Ya think if I threw myself off the balcony, Caleb would let it go?" Damien knew he could figure out-- some way to make it up to his band member, but he also knew he was in for a world of hurt along with it.
Ashton cleared his throat, it was uncomfortable for in the talk in this type of prospective about his best friends. He turned towards his friend as he cocked his head to the side, "It's not because you're in a bad state I don't you to be with her. I mean look at me, I'm the most fucked up kid walking around, and she puts up with me. I know your a great guy but Reese is also in this messed up place to. And if it doesn't work out between the two of you and it ends up just being a thing like you usual have; I don't think she'll be able to pick up the pieces of herself for the fourth time. Once people get close to her, she trusts them too much, and once that trust is broken, she loses herself." He knew that was because she didn't grow up in a loving environment, and the moment someone returns her love she is quick to fall for it. He placed a hand on his friends shoulder before continuing, "You're a great guy, and you will find someone that helps you grown out of your messed up stage, and make you view life differently. But it's not going to be Reese." He clapped his hands together awkwardly, "Now that that chick flick moment is down and over with. What do you wanna do tonight?" Then he heard his friends comment about Caleb, and he chuckled softly, as he leaned back on the couch, "Sorry bro. Even he you died. He find away to bring you back to life just so that he could kill you."
What even was this conversation at this point? Had it really just been Ashton wanting Damien to be honest, or his way of letting his friend know that Reese was completely off limits. Damien sat there silent for a few seconds too long, not even fully sure how he was supposed to respond. Did Ashton honestly think that Damien would treat Reese, the only girl he probably cared about more than Aurora, like all the other girls? What...did that even say about him? He slowly shook his head, offering his best friend a reassuring smile. "No worries. You know I'd never want to mess things up for her in any way so..." He raised his hands as if to say 'hands off', letting them flop back at his sides. "I think I need a drink," he mumbled into the couch cushion, an exaggerated groan soon following. "If I'm gonna die tomorrow morning, I might as well be hungover when it happens." Tomorrow was going to be hell; utter and complete hell for everyone that was written about by Gossip Girl. But he knew that it would be worse for the girls. It always was. But if Damien had anything to say about it, they wouldn't be suffering for too long.
"Me too bro," Ashton called as he leaned his back against the couch seat as his thoughts transferred back to his father whom was probably at home with a new girl, "And Damien," he started to say his her turned his head to the side to see his friend, "If it makes you feel any better. It's obvious she likes you too." He made sure he wasn't stating it in a tone that would condone this behaviour, but almost in a reassuming tone. He wasn't sure why he was saying it, but he knew that if he was him; he would want to know. He let out a sigh, "It will blow over soon. I mean it could be worst. At least Caleb will know that nothing actually happened between her and Tyson. He can't hate you forever." He hoped that this would reassume his friend with a bit of hope to get through tomorrow. But he knew what it felt like to be written by Gossip Girl; it was horrible. There was no worst feeling, "I really wonder who this bitch is though. I mean who gets joy in ruining lives?" Ashton felt his phone buzz and was quick to reply to Alexandra, Hey. :)
It took him a while before Damien realised he'd receieved a text, rolling onto his side to grab for his phone once more. Aurora. Well, at least he knew she wouldn't be taking it as hard as the rest of them were. But he had to wonder if it was all just an act; a facade to reassure all the others that it would be okay. He'd seen some...light in her eyes he'd never seen before when she'd spoken about Tyson, and that was what made Damien worry most. I'd owe you my very soul if you actually accomplished that, he replied back before tossing his phone onto the couch. When his friend spoke up, Damien propped himself on his elbow and began with, "But I don't--" only to cut himself off. He had been far too honest tonight to begin lying now. With a groan, Damien flopped back down on the couch and pointed towards the kitchen without a word; his silent way of saying that's where the drinks were. "I guess your right," came his muffled agreement. But still. Thinking about the looks that Aurora would get the next day was almost painful. Far more painful than anything that could be done to him by Caleb.
Ashton headed towards the kitchen has it felt his phone buzz and quickly responded, Ikr. If it wasn't already bad, GG just had to come and butt in. , "What's your poison?" he asked as he poured himself a shot of vodka and quickly let the bitter liquid slide down his throat, and scrunched his face up in disgust, or a second as the taste hit his taste buds, "Aurora's strong, she won't allow people to get her down," he called as he ran another hand through his damp brown hair, as he bit his bottom lip. He wondered if Reese could get through the day. She cared too much about what others thought about her. She would hear every whisper and take it to heart, "I knew I shouldn't of let her go," he muttered, as he took another shot. Tomorrow was going to interesting day, and he hoped that all the girls would get through it. He craved a cigarette, but he knew that he couldn't have one. He patted the counter, annoyedly, "I hope it passes over soon." All he could do was hope for the best. He ran a nervous hand through his hair once again. He needed to take his mind off anything. He couldn't believe someone could be doing this to his friends. He bit back the anger he was feeling. The last he wanted to do was explode.
"As long as it's strong and possibly makes me forget most of tonight? I'll be happy," Damien called out to his friend from the couch. He had no intentions of moving anytime soon. Not until he could come up with some kind of plan to not only keep Caleb from killing him tomorrow, but also to protect both Aurora and Reese. Suddenly his phone went off, and he looked towards it with absolute fear. Since Aurora hadn't replied back yet, he knew she was far too occupied with the sleepover the girls were having. And anyways, he had specific tones and vibration patterns for his contacts. And that tone was most definitely Caleb's. "As true as that is," he began while slowly reaching for the device and unlocking the screen, "doesn't change the fact that her brother would quite literally kill someone over this. And it looks like he's found out." He sent off a quick text in reply: She didn't do anything. And killin me will leave you one guy short in takin down Wilson. Tomorrow, and every day after that until things really did blow over, was going to be hellishly long. "It better blow over soon." All Damien could do was take care of his friends as best he could, and be there for them when needed. At that point, Reese came to his mind once again and he decided to send off another text. Hey, you doin alright?
Ashton grinned as Alexandra's response and replied with, It sounds great. tmw after school? ;) He was glad that they became friends. He would finally be able to learn how to dance. He started to pour Damien some scotch that seemed strong enough to knock you out after a glass or two, "What did Caleb say? Did he over detailedly described your death?" He fill up a glass from himself before walking over to Damien; whom was still slumped down on the couch. He handed him out the glass, "To a hangover on a school day," he chuckled, and he took a seat down beside his friend. He shoved his phone back into his pocket on his skinny jeans with a sigh as he swirled the glass of alcohol in his glass before stating, "Tomorrow is going to suck. Reese isn't going to take it well. How's Aurora taking it?" All Reese needed was guys thinking she was a slut again. Everyone never stop thinking about it but the idea was slowing disappearing, and now it was fresh again. This time it would open a door to her past, and another guys will be talking about their time with her because the Damien was now all supposedly is with her. They will start lying about being with her, and the old rumours will resurface.
Caleb stared at his phone as he waited for a reply from-- he wasn't all too sure at this point. He could tell without even talking to her that Aurora was most likely doing alright, he was sure Caleb was seething over the situation but trying to think practically, and Reese-- He was most worried about Reese. If how the blonde had reacted in the car earlier was any indication of how she would be taking this...Damien needed to be sure she was alright. "All he said was 'Your dead. And I can make it look like an accident,'" he called out in reply. "You know C, he's a man of few words." Which, right then, Damien was extremely thankful for. He didn't have the energy to deal with an angry brother who was also one of his closest friends. Taking the glass from Ashton, Damien finally sat back up on the couch and rose the glass in the air as if in a toast. "Hear, hear!" He lowered the glass before swirling the liquid for a few seconds, taking a long sip of his drink while he slowly relaxed into the couch. "That's for sure," he groaned after bringing the glass back down. "Aurora's-- Well, Aurora's being Aurora about it I'm sure. She was more concerned about Caleb gettin' on me about it." Damien could only imagine what would happen once Caleb ran into-- or rather, tracked down --Tyson the next day. He would be in tow of course, because at the end of the day even if Aurora could handle her own she was still fragile. And there was no way he'd ever stand back and let anything break her again.
Ashton felt his phone buzz and his pocket and was quick to reply to Alexandra, Sounds Good. I'll met you then, before shoving back into the pocket of his jeans, "Sounds like Caleb," he chuckled softly, as he patted his friends shoulder reassuringly, "Well at least nothing happened. Other wise he'd already be on his way over here." He leaned his back against the couch, relaxing soft cushions before replying, "Tyson's going to get in shit tomorrow. Caleb's going to whoop his ass. But I wonder if he can take Tyson. I mean he's a fairly good fighter." He started to pondered if they had a fight how would go. He was unsure, and thought it would be a even battle and could go both ways, "Bro, If you die tomorrow, can I have your motorcycle?" he chuckled as he tried to soften the subject. He chuckled as he faked a toast, and he over dramatically finished his drink and placed it beside his, "What do you wanna do? I need to get my mind off tomorrow before I start going crazy." He knew that worrying made him angry, and once the angry build to his climax, he was going to have a break down. He needed to calm down, he needed to get his mind off the subject.
Damien's brows furrowed when he received yet another text from Caleb, lips pursed before breaking out in a suspicious grin. "Huh, looks like he's already got Aurora covered though," he said well sending off another text. "I guess he has some surprise for her tomorrow." As much as he wanted to tell his friend exactly what it was, he didn't need to add yet another thing to the list of reasons for Caleb to end him. He was just about to set his phone down when another text came in-- from Reese. Damien sat up even straighter then, releasing a sigh at the obvious lie that was written across his screen. You can tell me if you're not alright, ya know? And I'm good-- just tryin to save my life and all lol. From what Ashton had told him, Damien knew all too well that Reese more than likely wasn't handling all of this well. Sure, there were probably distractions at Aurora's place. But it wasn't enough; it didn't make everything go away. He didn't want to be like Ashton and come across as babying the girl, but that didn't mean he wouldn't worry. "Wow, when I live tomorrow I'm findin' a new best friend," he answered in a joking tone. Tossing his phone to the side, he finished off the rest of his drink and set the glass on the table. "I could always kick your ass at Halo again?" He flashed a smile that was a bit too wide-- faker than any he'd worn that night --hoping to put his friend at ease as best he could.
"You could never replace me," Ashton chuckled as he smacked the back on his friends head. He knew from his over done smile that Damien wasn't alright but he wanted to fake it for his sake. He decided it would be easier for both of them if they pretended they were both alright, and save each other a bit of worry. He patted his friends shoulder as he tossed him an over confident smile, "I let you win that time. You're gonna get schooled this time, asshole." Ashton quickly sent Alexandra a quick text, Have a good night, love , before shoving his phone back into pocket of his black skinny jeans, "Halo is my game bro." To be honest, Ashton sucked at video games hardcore, but he wasn't going to admit that to his friend. He was trying to come up with ideas that could distract him during game, so that he could win. He let his mind ponder as he waited for his friend to set up the game. Surprisingly, this whipped his mind to clean about Aurora, Reese, and Gossip Girl. It couldn't last forever but at least he would be distracted for the time being. He shot him a wicked smile as he ran a hand through his still damp dark brown hair. Tomorrow he would worry, tonight he would just have fun with his best mate.
It was true of course. Damien would never actually go about replacing any of the friends he had. They were all different and yet the same in their own ways, and they were the only people outside of his family that truly accepted him. But still. "You wanna bet that?" He questioned with a quirk of his brow, making a dramatic show of leaning forward in reaction to the smack. In retaliation, he quickly elbowed his best friend in the side before jumping up from the couch. Out of all of the people he knew, Damien could read Ashton the best and he instantly knew that his friend was bluffing. "Uh, yeah, sure. You just keep tellin' yourself that-- same way you keep sayin' you can dance." With a snort of laughter, he jumped up from the couch and started towards the TV; the shelf below it containing most of his games and movies. When his phone vibrated yet again, he rushed towards it to check for a text back from either Reese or Caleb-- only to find both along with a new Gossip Girl update. With a frown, he quickly went about checking it...and let out a groan. "Shit-- Looks like Gossip Girl's trying to ruin that surprise I mentioned earlier," her ground out between his teeth before quickly replying to both texts: MAKE SURE RORY DOESN'T FIND OUT ABOUT JAMES!!
"What was the surprise?" Ashton asked as he rushed to his friend's Damien's side, "The one Caleb has for Aurora?" He pondered at the possible scenario he could of set up that Gossip Girl could be trying to ruin. He couldn't think of what it could possibly be. He felt his phone buzz and bit after Damien's and he was quick to check knowing that he would be gossip girl's update. He read it quickly and still couldn't put the pieces together, "What does James's being back have anything to do with Caleb's surprise?" Ashton sometimes wasn't the smartest cookie in the box. He was really smart when it came to school, but once it didn't revolve around a textbook, the poor kid was lost. He shoved his phone back in his pocket, as he raise his brows confusedly in his friends direction, "James was planning on surprising Aurora?" He still wasn't sure how it connected to Caleb. He thought for a moment as he tapped the bottom of his chin, "Caleb was in on it or setting it up?" He wasn't one hundred percent sure, but it thought it was a pretty good guess.
The way Damien stared at his friend in that moment-- It was almost as if he was watching in real time as Ashton grew a second head on his shoulders. The kid was one of the smartest in their grade-- both Damien and Ashton were in the top five respectively --but sometimes he could be a bit dim. Opening his mouth to speaking, Damien looked back to his phone once more upon getting another text from Reese. He sighed with relief, childishly scrunching up his face while he replied: I'll buy you whatever you want to eat this wknd, alright? THANK YOU! He stuffed his phone into his pocket then, not even worrying about Caleb since he was-- lord only knew where. Turning back to Ashton, Damien placed on hand on his friend's shoulder and fought the urge to speak to him slowly. "You know how Aurora and James have always been, like, attached at the hip, right?" He began, just to assure himself that his friend knew at least that much. "And you know how he just up and left last year? I guess he's comin' back, starts school tomorrow and all that. But," and this was where he flashes his friend a wide grin, patting him on the shoulder before pulling away his hand, "he wants it to be a surprise. Aurora's probably gonna kick his, Caleb's, and my ass but oh well." Clapping his hands together, he turned back to the game shelf and removed the one he was looking for. He was growing nervous, however, that somehow Aurora would find out about James before the time was right. He could only hope that by some miracle everything would go off without a hitch.
"Oooooohhhhhh," Ashton responded as he sent a nod in his friends direction, "So, best friends reuniting? That's cute." He pictured Reese disappearing without a word, and then he showing on out of no where the next year. He shook the thoughts out of his mind. He would be angry, but then he would be so happy to see her again, that nothing would even matter. He frowned softly, he tried to remove the ideas from his mind, he couldn't picture a year without Reese, and it definitely didn't want to try. He cocked his head in Damien's direction, "That's cute through. I mean if I was in her position. I'd want it to be all big and special." A adorable boyish grin appeared on his lips that allowed his dimples to be present on his olive skin. He cleared his throat awkwardly as he realized how girly he sounded. He erased that childlike smirk on his face as he stated, "So video games? Killing. Fun," he stated in the most manly tone he could, but he it made him almost want to break out into laughter. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like he needed to pretend that he was really manly, through he knew that Damien knew him well enough to see right through him. Herk, Damien knew that he was a huge softie, and he was glad that he had a best friend that sure would tease him about it, but he wouldn't treat him like a strange alien for it.
