What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

The book I'm looking for is a children's book about a bug who plays hooky to keep from taking a test. I believe its a spelling test, and his mother thinks he has Shoo fly fever. I read it as a child in the early to mid 90s, but it could have been from the 80s as well. I remember this line from the book: "Neener neener bee's nest! Im too smart to take the test!" I also remember that later in the book he feels sad because he can't go out to tryout for a bug sports team because his mother makes him stay in bed. I think theres other books that follow this same character but I can't remember the plot of any of the others. Thanks for the help!

I think this thread is about a different book. It sounds like Snugg & Shoe-Fly Flu by Stephen Cosgrove There are other books about Snugg such as Snugg / Humbugg
