Paulina I wonder how did everyone else feel about the ending. I thought that it was the only way to end the series. Did anyone else have any other thoughts?

Omama Actually at first I didn't like the fact that Seth(Amazing Seth) sacrificed his soul for a girl who didn't give him the time of day...
I din't like the ending mostly because the story was alot similar to Persephone's... Don't get me wrong, I love Persephone's story but I'm not thrilled about the fact that the ending of such an amazing series is based on the story of a greek goddess...
Also I didn't like the fact that Alex died in the end, I mean they should've found a loophole...

Jay I hated the ending. It completely ruined the whole series for me. I didn't like the fact that alex died and her and aiden became demigods.

S.L.J. I thought the part where Alex died was the best part because it definitely is the type of thing the Gods would do. The rest was way too deus ex machine.

Blondel As much as I loved the series, I didn't like the way it ended. I really didn't expect Alex to die, there should have been some way to escape such a fate. Jennifer is still my girl though.

Ilana well, i think that they needed to kill some key players off, while still giving the story a bit of a sense of happiness - for some key characters. i think that's what they did with the balance of time underworld and time above.

It took me a long time to come to terms with how other characters' endings came, and i think that while some deaths weren't necessarily needed - it's the end of a long journey that we were highly invested in, and it's not surprising.

I'm really impressed that our lovely author was able to keep to the true focus of the story and interweave mythology in it, in a fashion and way that really added v. detracting.

sad about some things - yes, i was. happy about others, yup. at least we weren't left without closure which is the case a lot of the time with series that we're invested in.

Mary I was crushed and it took me a while to accept the ending. Still love the relationship that remained with Seth and Aiden. IF that part of the story would have been severed then I would completely hate this book.
Unfortunately for me, I was reading several series ending books at that time and they all seem to kill the main character. It was not a happy time around my house at that time. I am a sucker for happy endings where the girl gets the guy. Still love Jennifer and will READ anything and everything she writes.

Ashley I can definitely see how you guys do not like the ending, but in my point of view (if it was a real life situation) then I can understand why the gods would not let Alex live and it's most likely that there's not a loophole when it came to taking her life. The only "loophole" was the ambrosia that Alex consumed.

Seth on the other hand, had done a huge sacrifice for the girl he loves and Aiden. It was the least he could do despite of all he's done. I do love Seth and really enjoyed him while reading the series. He is awesome, but he needed to learn the consequences from his actions, even though he wasn't himself. He needed to grow and make a grown up decision, so I can see why Jennifer came up with this for Seth.

The ending is somewhat satisfying for me, but that's just my opinion. Of course, I wanted more of the ending and explore on how Alex and Aiden spend their new life together, but it's understandable why Jennifer ended this why. I just hope we see more of them in the spin off series :D

Zoe Todd The ending... well lets just say seth gave up his entire life and afterlife for alex and yeah she says she loved him but wow his love I think he loves her more than she's capable of loving Aiden yeah he done horrible things but he was still young and he he did regret it all he knew it was a mistake.

I kind of think that Alex was a bitch for being so okay with it yeah she can't change anything cause its already done and gets Aiden but seth doesn't ever get peace like ever that actually made me feel really sad for the poor guy cause yeah everyone makes mistakes and people always have to sacrifice things but i actually loved seth and really wanted him to find peace in the end in all of this and that's not peace he wont ever have peace.

I'm happy for Alex and Aiden though I guess but their still going to see the ones they love grow old and die and that must be a pointless life I would rather be stuck in the underworld.

Magdalena I didn't like the ending and i even don't know why. i should be happy couse when i was readnig i honestly thought that at the end Seth will take power from her and kill Ares and then the gods will kill him so she would not die. I love Seth so i'm happy it didn't happen but any way he sacrifice so much for her.

And i like Aiden and Alex but i think they live in their own bubble and they don't see anyone but themselves.

I think there wasn't enough emotions at the end of the book we only saw first hand Seth's reaction to Alex deth i would like to see how Aiden breaks couse he kept everythig together even when Alex was conected to Seth and he didn't break once.

It would be so nice if it would enden with Alex deth and Aiden suffering so there could be one more book from Aiden POV showing what he had to do to get the ambrosia it would be nice seeing him working with Seth to get the love of his life back (i know it sound a lot like the Iron Knight from The Iron Fey series but it would fit here)

Jay I agree that Seth gave up everything for Alex and when Alex found out all she said was that she couldn't wait to thank him. She didn't once think about how he basically just ended his life for her. Same with Aiden. It's like Alex and Aiden don't give a shit about anyone else but themselves.

I completely agree!

S.L.J. Seth is getting his own spin-off series just like Adrian did in VA so it's obvious that he's going to find someone to be with in that.

Vijay when alex, aiden and seth went to underworld seth was shown to feel uneasy when it was mentioned the first was in tartarus. After everything he has done he might have thought that it would be his fate too.so thats why i think he took aidens place so he can escape being in tartarus for eternity

I Don't think it's that at all Seth wasn't a coward and the one thing he loved more than him self and power was Alex and he sacrificed his life for her I doubt if he was scared of entering tarturs then why would he let Aiden have the ambrosia he just wouldn't do that he hated Aiden so you can say he took aidens place as hades guard to escape tartarus but he wouldn't give up everything he gave it up for alex....

Saige I hated the ending. I really wish Alex had stayed died. And Seth, one of the only person in the entire series that I still like gets screwed over big time. Alex and Aiden make me sick.

For all you people saying you hated the ending....wow. But as for me, I love the ending. It was beautiful and endearing, and I think that I would've been depressed for a week or two if it didn't end any other way. The series was absolutely riveting, and I tell everybody about it, because you know it's a good book when it makes you cry.

Laura ~Passion flower Hi Everyone!
My name is Laura, and, I am a HUGE HUGE fan of the Covenant Series. OMG. I think that this is seriously the BEST series I have EVER EVER encountered! I actually just came across it last week. I am SO SO very glad for GR because I have been thinking about the books for DAYS and am REALLY confused about some things, and would like to discuss them.

*First..there might be some spoilers here..*

Ok. The ending. I actually stopped reading when I came across this, and have had a hard time figuring it out. So Alex and Aiden are now demigods. They drank something and just went to sleep, and wound up in the Underworld. They weren't killed and didn't die die. Since they're demigods, they can do anything. They look the same, do the same things, have the same bodies, eat, walk and talk. The ONLY thing that's different is that they live in both places, and they'll live forever. I almost wanted them to still be mortal, and kinda still do, but, not much has changed with them except what I have mentioned, so, they kinda are still mortalish. Saying that they've "died" is very misleading.

Seth. I have always loved loved Seth, but, I also love Aiden. It really pained me when I found out what he did in the end. But..I am SO incredibly confused. He said that he would take the place of Aiden with Hades, so that Aiden could be with Alex. What does that mean? When? Now? When it's time for Seth to naturally die? Does Seth give up his soul, as Aiden would have, and work for Hades in the Underworld? Or, does Seth give Hades his soul, work for Hades on earth, and then continue to work for him when he dies? Does he become immortal now and go to work now for Hades in the Underworld, and stay there forever? Is he still mortal/half-blood? I am so confused, I'm getting a headache.

Also, can Alex and Aiden still visit, and be with, Seth? I am assuming that Seth and Alex still have a bond, which I love, and I am hoping that this will remain the same.

When Seth was holding Alex, when she was "dying", why was he SO upset? Why were they both SO upset? Am I not seeing something? OMG OMG that broke, and breaks, my heart. I think it was bc of his love for her, and her love, and, she was so scared of being alone. And bc it was supposed to be him? As the first Appolyon? Those reasons are enough and are so beautiful, and SO sad, but, I just didn't know if there was another reason. Did they not know they'd see each other again??

I am SO glad Seth truly is a good person. It pained me to see him as a puppet and yearning for comfort. I always knew he was a good person, but, needed help finding his true self. I am also so glad of the continuation of Seth, and, will keep my fingers crossed to see more of everyone else in the future as well!

Maria I think ending such an epic series is hard to do, especially with a big fan base and so many expectations. But although the ending felt a bit lackluster, it was fitting because if Alex had ended up saved somehow, everyone would have complained that everything happened too easily. And I like the fact that Aiden won't be dying too soon...

Ayushma Neku The thing with Alex dying sucked
But I liked that they were demigods and Seth...
Seth was awesome

Kainaz For those of you talking about how you didn't like how Alex died, well, she didn't. I mean yeah, she died her "mortal death" or whatever but she didn't die, die. She became a demi god, which means she's immortal now. It definitely did not bother me at all, unlike some MC deaths in certain books we all know. In fact, I really really loved the ending. I especially loved the scene with Seth just before she 'died'. I thought it was really, really beautiful. And I think that what he did for them was spectacular and I cannot wait for The Return! Seth so deserves his own series. <3

Jayne When I first relized she died, my heart sank. I was soo scared that it would end with her living in the afterlife alone, but the pat where Aidan came to save her was a little too cliche for me. Idk if this makes sence but I almost want a book that is brave enough to kill off the main character or a book with a happy ending. Not this bs in between where Seth is condemded to a live of servitude and Aiden will hardly ever get to see his brother again.
