The Selection RP discussion

Mostly for the guards.

Garrett sighed wearily and sat heavily on his bunk. He was exhausted after his shifts but he felt he had done well in guarding the king and queen... At least he hadn't messed anything up.

Adrian sat up in his bunk, hearing a creak from across the room. He noticed Garrett, and smiled slightly. "Hey, Garrett. What's new?"

"I was assigned to the royals' chamber today." He said, smiling tiredly but excitedly.

Adrian nodded. "Great assignment. A bit more work, of course. But quite an honor nonetheless." He paused for a second. "I haven't gotten that honor yet. What's it like?"

"Like any other assignment I have to say." Garrett admitted. "But much more nerve wracking. Every little creak or footstep seems like a rebel attacking."

Adrian laughed. "Sounds like fun," he said sarcastically. "You know. The lives of the king and queen resting in your hands. But, pfft! No pressure or anything."

"Exactly." He said, chuckling. "And you? How was your assignment?"

Adrian smirked. "Hallway duty. Basically... just standing in the hallways. Standing still, and nodding at Selected girls. It's funny, really. Most other guards would kill to have that job."

Garrett actually laughed at that. "Not you though."

Adrian grinned. "Nope. Flirting with girls isn't exactly my forte, if you know what I mean. That, and the fact that I don't really feel like being fired." He paused. "Or executed. I don't like being executed. It's not exactly my idea of a good time."

"Makes sense all things considered. At the very least you get a break from all this." He gestured to the testosterone filled guards' house.

Adrian shrugged. "Yeah, that's always welcome." He made a face and stuck out his tongue. "It's not so bad, though. Once I get used to all... this." He smoothed his sheets, and adjusted his pillow. Then he gestured around the room. "It's like having a lot of brothers, I guess."

"Must make certain things a bit.... Complicated though." He said then blushed, realizing he really didn't want to talk about those.... Complicated things.
