Here is my review:
So, 23 year old me gave this 4 stars. 37 year old me gives it 3. I remember not being able to put this down, but I must have been in a weird book phase at the time.
Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it this time through - but I did have to put it down from time to time to wrap my brain around what I just read. Also, the disjointed nature of reality vs Vurt is sort of cool, but it caused me to start losing interest at a couple points because I was not sure what was going on.
I think a special type of reader would appreciate this book. What type of reader that is exactly . . . I am not sure!

There have been so many books I've read over the years and when I've re read them I was very confused. The magic was gone (or lessened). This totally makes sense. HOWEVER.... 23 year old Matthew kind of scares me... :P
I think I would like 23 year old Matthew! What's wrong with you guys?! Remember we'd be that much younger too...or would we be? ><-><
Well... I tried.I realized I haven't picked this up in over 10 days. Thats usually an indicator I won't be returning to it.
I made it to the halfway point. It isn't that its terrible, there are elements I really like and can totally understand why others would enjoy it! But, overall, this just isn't my thing.
I've really made putting aside books I'm not loving a priority this year. As a result, this is one of (probably around) a dozen. It's not the books fault, I'm just not the target audience.
I've had no time to read, but like it well enough that I've already promised my book to someone at work when I finish. He likes cyberpunk (according to him) and what I most want to discuss is the (view spoiler). Broke my heart.

Take your time! We are always here to discuss :)
Also, when you are ready to discuss your spoiler, we did chat about that a bit in the Character discussion.

Looks like in general this group is going with 3 stars on Vurt - hey, at least we all agree on that! :)
I genuinely enjoyed reading it, but couldn't read of very long because I simply didn't understand much of what was going on. I wanted to lose myself in it the way you said you did so long ago, but I would read a few pages and need a break.I am struggling with a review because I don't want to seem mentally deficient, but I also don't want to fib and pretend I "got" it.

I used to call these threads "Quick Review", but I don't mind if it is a short or long review!
