From Netgalley, I'm currently reading The Library at Mount Char, Sing Down the Stars, and The Peddler's Road (I'm an utter sucker for stories related to the Pied Piper Mythos.)

I'm reading Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice in fiction and Roger L Dawkin's Adapting Genetics in non-fiction.

The Element of Fire, I'm so good! So is the book.

I started to read Säätiö ja Imperiumi (Foundation and Empire) by Isaac Asimov and The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie.

I am beginning The Camelot Shadow on ebook this weekend.

I am doing the audio book of Queen of Shadows.

Finished A Darkness Forged in Fire and started it sequel, The Light of Burning Shadows.

Recently finished up both BOTM reads, Retribution Falls by Chris Wooding, and also finished up the final books of Daughter of Smoke and Bone and Percy Jackson series. Oh and have also been listening to the Falling Kingdoms series (excellent narrator by the way).

I also just read my very first Manga volume, called Death Note by Tsugumi Ohba. It was actually really good and I didn't see even one pair of ridiculously large bosoms!

@Margret I love Death Note! I watched the anime and live action. How are you liking the print version?

I was hesitant at first but it's such a fast read and very cat and mouse the way Light and "L" are... Ok well they're both cats.. But I couldn't think of a better analogy.

I know that this may not be important to some but the "black edition" which was lent to me is so gorgeous, the cover is a soft velvety matte black and the page edges are black too. It is nice even to just look at!

I finished The Liar's Key. Well, I tuned out up to a certain point, but how dare Lawrence give an ending like that! :O

Now, I'm indulging in more Rothfuss with The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

I also finished Half a War yesterday. Great wrap up of a fantastic series, while leaving it open for more books to be written in that world.

Starting The Martian. I was going to read it before the movie, but I was lucky enough to see an advance screening. Now I can't not see Matt Damon as the protagonist.

Starting the third & last of Chris Evans' Iron Elves books, Ashes of a Black Frost.

The First confessor by Terry Goodkind .

Finished The Well of Ascension and finally got The Martian from my library for kindle (I think I waited for two months?). I heard about this book back in January when it was nominated for the 2014 best sci-fi and added it to my ever-growing list of to-reads but now that it's almost out as a movie I had to bring it up on the list.

And after that probably gonna wrap up Mistborn trilogy with The Hero of Ages. PLUS Saga 6 is out soon/if not already!

Still reading fires of heaven about half way through

I've finished King Hereafter (not a light read, but impressive, I'm in awe of Dunnett). Then I've read Queen of Shadows, an excellent instalment in the throne of glass series.

I've picked The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps as my next read, the free preview was intriguing and I read an interesting article at tor.com which encouraged me further, because I'm all for stories which use language as an active part of the world-building (if the authors pulls it off, that is).

Hello group, I'm going to try and post here more since lately my reading has been dominated by fantasy.

I'm on a Robin Hobb binge, just read 1 and 2 in the Fitz and the Fool Trilogy and now I'm reading Shaman's Crossing

My "World Culture" binge is still ongoing. I picked up the The Apex Book of World SF Bundle collection at a good price (all 4 [digital] books in a bundle for $10!)

And I really liked the novella Xiao Xiao and the Dragon Pearl

In other news, found a Gene Wolfe Book I somehow missed that I'm now giving a go.. The Sorcerer's House

I'm reading Jo Walton's, "Among Others." I'm really enjoying this one. About a young girl and her boyfriend who both love to read science fiction. Reminds me of me many years ago.

Just finished and started today. Tower lord was great and I've heard mixed reviews about the 4th installment in this throne of glass series so I'm excited to find out for myself

@Jaylin enjoy Queen of Shadows. I have not read the reviews, but I'd wager the mixed reactions are about the romance compartment :D or the MarySuism? I felt like in a dating and relationship reality series (it's not that bad really, but ahhh, the ooc teenaging angst!).

I'm reading "The way of kings" by Brandon Sanderson. So far I am really liking it, even though it took me a moment to get into it.

Not much of a review, since I'm happily confused, but those are my impressions.

Now reading Sorcerer to the Crown (next one will probably be Archmage by RA Salvatore, I'm on a magic users reading spree it would seem).

@Alissa both your points are understandable. The romance portion of the series is very indecisive, and w/ the MarySuism I feel like Maas goes out of her way to show that she's perfect whenever someone describes Celaena from their POV

Hello there! I'm currently reading Death of the Necromancer by Martha Wells, book 2 in her Ile-Rien series. It's coincidental seeing how this club's book for this month is book 1 (I'm a new member). I already finished a book for one of my fantasy book clubs, and now I'm trying to catch up on Anthony Ryan's Blood Song for another club. I already have Mart1ha Wells' Wheel of the Infinite ready for next month, as I've been very excited to read that one! Her books are quite cheap on Kindle which is fantastic as I'm loving her stuff so far.

I noticed you were reading that when I was approving you. Welcome by the way. The characters are different aren't they? I've got my book ready for next month, yay cheap kindles.

Yes,it's interesting because Death of the Necromancer works as a standalone despite being the second in the series. It has a way different feel but I'm really enjoying it.

Finished Ashes of a Black Frost and started the final Tiffany Aching/Discworld book, The Shepherd's Crown, and is it getting dusty in here? It must be getting dusty.

Now reading The Wild War by Plague Jack.

This is the 2nd book in the Armenia Fallen series and it's really good. Drones, witches, monsters, hybrid mechanical creatures....and an island prison that's like a medieval "Escape from New York".

Just finished the Magicians Trilogy. Really hated The Magicians but stuck with it and found that The Magician King and The Magician's Land were really good. If you can get through the first one you will be rewarded with really nice couple of books. After this I'm really diving into The Element of Fire

I've read five: City of Bones, The Element of Fire and the trilogy beginning with The Cloud Roads. The trilogy is outstanding.

Finished The Shepherd's Crown and I am sad (because it's the last Discworld) and happy (because I have read Terry Pratchett and so cannot be unhappy) in equal parts.

And now starting Dreams of Shreds and Tatters by Amanda Downum, just for something completely different.

Discworld in its entirety, plus Robin Hobb's Rain Wilds saga! Long overdue.

Joseph I have about 9-10 Pratchett books left to read and I am reluctant to finish them.

I just started Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

Bought three new books, all manga Death Note.

Currently reading Death Note, Vol. 8: Target, second one of the three I´ve bought.

It´s a 2nd chance for Wolf Hall, the book I disliked and half finished before. I´ve seen in on my bookshelf when dusting and thought why don´t I remember it fully, so I picked it up. It appears I´ve rated it 1 star before and have given up on it. Whether this changes or not depends on how much I´m going to proceed with it.

I´m monthly following manga Kuroshitsuji and Akatsuki no Yona throught magazines. I really love them so they´re great exercise for my Japanese since I want to know what´s going on.

Here is my review of shadow of torturer one of the most complex books in fantasy/sci fi.

At the moment i'm 3 books in to the Malazan series, which I've been putting off for years, so far its been really enjoyable and surprisingly easy to follow considering its reputation... though this is likely due to me building it up in my head over the years as this intricate maze of confusion and mystery! Errr... what else, i read the first 3 books of the Moontide Quartet, which have been sitting on my shelf unread for a year or 2 now, but wow, am i glad i got around to it! the first book is pretty slow but i persevered and believe me its worth it! The next 2 books i just could not put down, the pace really picks up, the characters really grow and the plot behind it all really draws you in. I also got round to Redemption Ark the 2nd in Alastair Reynolds Revelation Space series, it was quite disappointing after the first. Reynolds is an Ideas man and not the best storyteller, and Redemption Ark lent too heavily on the latter.

I am planning on reading revelation space series some time soon.
