25.8 - Amanda A's Task: Happy Fall!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love the cooler weather, football and the return of my favorite TV shows.

Please chose TWO different options and read a book for each.

REQUIRED: State which options you chose in your post.

A. Fall TV Shows: Read a book that a TV series is based on. If the book is part of a series, any book in that series will work.
Examples: The Cold Dish and Longmire, Pretty Little Liars and Pretty Little Liars, and 16 Lighthouse Road and Cedar Cove. REQUIRED: In your post, include a link to IMDb in your post in your post to show the TV series.

B. Are You Ready for Some Football?: Read a book with the "Sports" genre on the main page. Embedded genres are allowed.

C. Cooler Weather (Brrrr): September, October and November all end in "ber". Read a book with a word that contains "ber" found intact in the title/subtitle.
Examples: I've Got Your Number, Blackberry Winter.

D. I Love a Good Series!: The Fall months of September, October and November are the 9th, 10th and 11th months of the year. Read a book that is #9, #10 or #11 in a series. The book must be identified as part of a series on Goodreads.

Christine | 923 comments Question about Option A: Would a TV mini-series be acceptable, or does it need to be a standard TV series?

A TV mini-series would work too.

Approved

Kim | 764 comments For option A, is it required that the series has actually aired to count? A new series is starting this fall on Sundance TV based on the Hap and Leonard novels by Joe R. Lansdale. Savage Season is the first novel in the series.

The show is listed in IMDB: IMDB link

Thank you.

No, it is not required that the series has actually aired as long as there is an IMDB link available for verification.

Tineke (dutch-book) | 0 comments Is it also okay to read a book that is based on a TV-show, so the other way around?
I want to read The Secret Diary of Laura Palmer

Oceane Montanea | 121 comments For option C, may I read La casa de Bernarda Alba? It's a play, so I'm not sure it can be used... Thank you!

Andy Plonka (plonkaac) | 4207 comments For Option 3, BER in the title, could I use this book
Orphan Number Eight by Kim van Alkemade
The hardcover and paperback title is listed as Orphan # eight, but the ebook of which I have a copy
, lists the title as Orphan Number 8 and this would be the copy I read. Obviously for length, I need to add one of the print copies. If you find this unacceptable, I have a backup book that will work.
Thanks,
Andy

Kim (goodreadscomkimber) | 708 comments Is it ok to read a book based on a tv series? It appears the series was a few years before the books came out and that the books are a pick up where the series ended.

imdb link:

book link:The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line

Thanks!
