This author despite Chief Inspector Van Veeteren retirement has produced a story that only a master story teller could write.
Ewa Moreno is caught up in a murder case from 1983. A teacher was accused and found guilty of murdering one of his students after she informed him of her pregnancy. Just 16 years old at the time of her death the trial was an open & shut case with the murderer put away for possible insanity.
Ewa Moreno is on a train beginning her long awaited vacation when she observes a girl weeping. that girl, Mikaela, is going to meet the father she never knew. Her father is the murderer who was put away 16 years ago when Mikaela was 2 years old.
This was a lengthy book and without Van Veeteren I was not sure if it would be worth reading. Let me assure you (the reader) this story was more than just worth reading. It was an excellent story by an excellent in depth story teller. Once again H.N. never left a stone unturned with well developed characters who were worth learning about as they picked up where their mates left off. A tremendously eye opening ending.

It includes her biography, all books in order including Inspector Sejer novels and her other writing and also movie credits.

I've read "The Tenant" and almost of forgot to put her in Denmark Authors, thank you. I usually do this when I put her on NetGalley July 18, 2019. My review I put up August 30, 2019. I have no excuses as to why I forgot. Her book The Tenant
will be published in English the 14 of January 2020. It's worth reading.

Why is the newish wave of police procedurals are so extremely graphic in nature. Whole chapters are spent Detailing how the perpetrator tortures victims. They are extremely popular. I despair, but to each his own. I’m not into cozies, but anything with intelligent police work would be wonderful. I have read all the well know authors. Truely can anyone help. Any lists I look up always contains gory, horror, thrillers which just disgust me.
