That sounds like an amazing idea. I'm currently working with Melissa Berg right now to put together new cover art so it would be awhile before I could create my own poster, but I'd love to help putting some up where I live. Coincidentally I'm a college student, so I'll check with the Creative Writing Club when I go to the student fair Wednesday and see if they can help out. I'm a small town girl so I don't know how much I can do, but I'll try to get something set up in a few places. The only problem I'll have is trying to get enough printer ink.If I can offer any advice its to study the flyers you see around the area you are in. You want the flyer to stand out, so black and white may be more effective than full color if everything around is neon. Try coming up with a design that stands out against any other advertising competition.
i'd be in on this, not that many places to put things around here, but i could get some stuff out there
Paul and Jordan -- and I know Brien Shores, and Yicheng will be on board. So we have 5. This is a good start. I'll wait a bit more to see what kind of interest we get. Paul, I'll add you to the Google circle for our group.
I have a kickass poster that just came from Vistaprint, and the test looked great, so I am IN.
Do we want the Inkshares logo on it to advertise the website, too?

I'm still trying to decide on a poster design myself. I keep thinking of doing a bookmark, but can't decide if I want to do just the bookmark or both.
Like John said I'm in. I already went around places in Buffalo, where I'm from, putting up flyers and I'm up for a round two with some of your stuff in hand.

I'm in, though maybe just as an advisory position for now. I don't have a poster planned for this leg of the campaign but I can help out others designing theirs.
JF, I'll add you to the Google circle I've created for this group. Email round 1 to follow -- I'm just in the process of planning some things out for this.

One aspect of promotion for us is making physical posters that we can put up in our home town, in libraries, bookstores, or universities (it's my understand that university students make a huge subset of fantasy and scifi readers).
So, for those of us who want to get in on this idea, why not join up a club here. Each of us will need a poster, then if we're in the club, we would print off the posters of those in the club and put them up where we live. I realize that might be work for each of us involved, and it might cost money for printing, but the kick-back benefit is that for every poster you're putting up, you know those other authors are putting your poster up in their home town/city. We're helping spread the word about each other.
As far as posters go, we'll want to make sure they're effective as possible, so not only would it be great to have you guys post in here if you're interested, but also to have some discussion.
Since this is an idea I'm throwing out there, I volunteer to organize this group and keep track of who's in. I will create a Google circle and group email for us to correspond through, so if you're in, then make sure we're connected by email. Drop me a line at johnrobinrt@gmail.com so we can get this effort going.
Use this thread to discuss effective posters, poster ideas, or questions.
Here's to another twist in this fun game we're all playing.
