I loved this book! Of course!
The stories that resonated most with me were her childhood. I related to her status of drama nerd and perpetually being in love with gay men who weren't out yet. Her anecdotes about her dad reminded me of my dad. While easy-going most of the time, if you crossed my dad... he got scary... we called it, "Big Bad Dad."
Something else that stuck out to me was when she told the story about Amy Poehler saying something really crass and Jimmy Fallon said, "Stop it! It's not cute! I don't like it!" And Amy snaps at him, "I don't fucking care if you don't like it." And to me, that sort of sums up this book and sums up how I feel on a day-to-day basis. I'm not a particularly "lady-like" lady and sometimes that makes me feel self-conscious, so to hear a story like that gives me courage to be who I am and not to give a fuck what other people think. I think y'all can relate. Can I get an AMEN?!?!
What did you guys think? What was your favorite story?
