We all have our reasons; what's yours?

Hallie (inkyhallie) It is... Well, it is refreshing! That page is a place where you can abandon your daily woes and put yourself in your characters shoes. It's a place where you can invent a world, control life! It's a place where you can put down your ideas!

My main reason to write: I simply can't resist that feeling. My nightmare is that someday, I'll run out of books to read. I want to write, and make sure that the world will never run out of books!

To kill reality and get into your own world.

Really? I thought it sounds juvenile.

Lol why would it sound juvenile?

message 8: by Hallie (new)

Hallie (inkyhallie) Well, a little immature. Like a five-year old.

It sounds like what a true bookworm would say, and I could never call a bookworm immature! ^_^

message 23: by Sanne (new)

Sanne (sanlily195) I feel like it gives me a way to create my own world and by writing it down, I can either let it go or make it more substantial. I probably sound crazy now :')

message 24: by Hallie (new)

Hallie (inkyhallie) No, you don't. That's pretty much why I write.

message 25: by Pradnya (new)

Pradnya (lost_in_hogwarts) | 13 comments Because it keeps me grounded and widens my perspective towards a plenty of things.

Pradnya (lost_in_hogwarts) | 13 comments Yes! Makes me realize there is a lot more for me to explore. World does not end in chemistry! No matter how much I excel it, there is something I will always be a beginner at. Thats writing!

message 28: by Hallie (new)

Hallie (inkyhallie) I know! You should write an interesting book on chemical reactions!

message 29: by Christy (new)

Christy Nicholas (greendragon9) | 16 comments Because I must? Really, I started writing to remember. I wrote travelogues of my trips to Ireland, England, Scotland, etc. The first trip was in 1996, and if I hadn't, there would be so much I would never have remembered. That morphed into writing travel guides.

Then, the project I had wanted to do for several years was finally within grasp. Novelizing my parents' love story, which involved a 30-year search, genealogical research, and the Starship Enterprise in Las Vegas. I knew it was a story that had to be told, and I finally had enough confidence in my abilities to tackle it. It just came out in January!

Then I had caught the bug and wrote the novels I wanted to read - historical fiction set in Ireland. I'm finishing up the first draft of my fifth histfic novel now. One is published, one due out in June, another on submission, and the other two in editing/first draft mode.

I'm hooked :)

Sandy Frediani Uhm...because the voices in my head tell me to.

message 31: by Hallie (new)

Hallie (inkyhallie) I wish the same voices told me what the answers are in my tests xD

message 32: by Dylan (new)

Dylan Gorman | 3 comments I write because it's fun and helps me relax. That and because I want to become a published author.
