Question about Posting Spoilers in Comments

Hi Nada,
Whenever someone is writing something that contains a spoiler, they are supposed to use the spoiler html code found in the link that says (some html is okay).
It will apprear like this: (view spoiler)
That way, Goodreads will automatically hide that section unless you click to read. Hopefully others will practice this!
Thanks for posting!

Thanks for this thread. This is my first time in a Goodreads group. I like the idea that the discussions are segmented so readers can participate in the sections they have read. However, I have come across some spoiler land mines in general comments and other places, which is really irritating. I know people do this unintentionally, but it would be nice if folks could use the spoiler protocol. I am not sure whether I want to participate in other groups until I have finished books.

For each of the chapter discussions, I have tried to limit my comments to what happens in those chapters or what came before. Unfortunately, I just read a spoiler in some of the comments - references to what happens well after the chapters in discussion. Is there a protocol for not posting spoilers in the discussion or for clearly marking spoilers so that those who wish to avoid it can?
I would appreciate any input. Thanks.
