Inspired by 2014 being celebrated as the Year of Reading Women Writers, we have launched 'She Reads South Asia' to create a supportive, active community of women writers from South Asia, and their readers, men and women, from across the globe.
SRSA is an initiative to discover, celebrate and discuss works by South Asian women writers. By involving both writers and readers, it aims to facilitate discussion, interaction and dialogue among the women writers from the region and their global readers.
The visual representation and anchor of She Reads South Asia are the series of bookmarks depicting women readers. The back of the bookmarks has a list of well-known (and some newer) female South Asian writers of literature and mainstream fiction. The printable versions of the bookmarks can be downloaded for free off the SRSA site (www.shereadssouthasia.com). The site also has badges that we invite bloggers to use to link to the campaign.
Please connect with us on GR and/or follow us on twitter at @SheReadsSA to get involved.
