I just realized I didn't comment when I finished this the other day.
If i had read this before the Wicked like planned I would have expected the end a bit more. The wizard is a real jerk, all about him even when he "feels bad" not enough to do anything about it. Plus he's only choosing the opposite of what he wanted to choose just to pass a test. He didn't do it for pure reasons so the test is there by flawed.
I had been curious after finishing the Wicked how he had gained power and such so this was interesting reading and answered a few questions as well.
