Margo ran through the hall. Her maid dress fitting perfectly among her body. She smiled and stopped suddenly.
Margo tilted her head. Feeling someone looking upon her. She turned making eye contact with the woman.
Elizabeth looked at her for a moment more, looking her up and down, then returned to looking at the portraits. "Who did you just run from?"
Margo blushed. "No one miss," she bowed her head.
"Look, I'm none to judge, or tell for that matter. Just the way you carry yourself makes it apparent."
Margo straightened herself out blushing brightly. Her blue eyes drifted away. "I.."
Elizabeth still looked at the portraits, not shifting her glance. "Don't worry, I'm really the only one in this kingdom who can read your composure like that. So who was he? A servant to the prince?"
Margo shook her head. Her head hung ashamed. "Misses. Please," she whispered. She could not lie to anyone higher then her.
Margo looked up. "I would.. I can not. What I did was highly inappropriate. I am ashamed!" She straightened her dress and cap.
Margo shook her head. "Not with a higher member..." She whispered
Margo sighed. "He just used me," she whispered. It was most likely true.
"Don't be scared about that. If it's meant to be, it'll happen, regardless of difference in stance."
Margo smiled kindly. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't be speaking..." She sighed. "I'm Margo," she curtsied.
Margo smiled. "Still, it's a good thing to be polite"
Margo made a face. "Lord Marcus," she whispered. She shivered and looked away
"It won't happen again it's just," she shook her head. "I'm ashamed I fell Ito the temptationl
((Night!!))
Margo blushed. She bowed. "It was a pleasure miss. I do hope to see you around. But I better get going. Before I get myself in more trouble!" She ran off once more.
Margo blushed. She bowed. "It was a pleasure miss. I do hope to see you around. But I better get going. Before I get myself in more trouble!" She ran off once more.
Margo reached up upon the paintings and dusted behind them careful not to break anything. Last time she tried to dust she ended up with a punishment because the vase ended up on the floor..
Mattie snuck quietly through the hall in an attempt to make her way back from the kitchen. Everything had gone fine up to the point when her exit had be blocked and she had been forced to find another way out of the queens castle. Catching sight of the girl she slipped quickly into a nook and hoped the girl would continue on her way soon.
Margo tensed. She sensed movement. She turned around, goosebumps rising on her skin. "H-hello?"
Dang! Mattie thought. She grew completely still and silenced her breathing. Carefully she began to mull over her other options in case the maid drew nearer while keeping alert for any form of movement.
Margo sighed with relief. No one. She straightened herself and walked unknowing towards the girl, heading for her next dusting assignment
Mattie readied herself, upon hearing the maid unknowingly come closer. She had decided to try to lie her way out and if she failed she would take her leave through the window and hope for the best.
Margo stiffened. "I know your there!" She called out. She just new it!
Confidently Mattie stepped out from her hiding spot, after checking that her dagger was in place. She was thankful that most of her face was covered so it would be harder for the girl to see her identity. She stared scrutinizingly into the girl's eyes trying to intimidate the maid.
Margo crossed her arms. "Are you serious!" She sighed. "This is not what I wanted at all!" She face palmed. "You know you could get into some real trouble"
Margo shrugged. "Because! You are suppose to help clean! Not playing dress up!"
"You mock me," She said again harshly. "I am no maid," She spit. As much as she hated treating the girl this way she had bigger problems on her plate such as the fact that she had to get out before anyone noticed things were missing. "I had an audience with the queen and I must say that her wait staff have certainly not been the most impressive."
Margo closed her eyes. "Maids aren't... " she shook her head. "Who are you!" She glared
"What do my affairs matter to you!" Mattie's plan was failing and now seemed like the time for plan B; the window. It shouldn't be to hard to overpower her if she tried to block her escape but if she called the guards that would be a different story entirely.
Margo huffed. "You stole didn't you!?" She narrowed her eyes. "High ya!" She hit the girl with her duster
Mattie instantly blocked the incoming blow with her dagger. She twisted it expertly and sent the duster flying across the room. "You are certainly quick, more so than others" She said in a cocky tone.
Margo huffed. "Oh, sure!" She narrowed her eyes. Preparing herself
"I don't want to harm you," Mattie said creeping toward the window from where she would make her escape. "The Queen certainly has plenty of food, so think of this as my way of repaying her debts to the people who used to love her," She said coldly.
"You are stealing food!" She stepped forward reaching for the bag
Mattie spun away, pointing her dagger to the maid. "I will use this if you get in my way," She said making the threat clear. Why did this girl care. She had seen the kitchens and there was plenty of food, and yet there were people starving out there on the streets. People who would love even a crumb of the fresh food, and here was this maid seemly standing up for the Queen! The women the kingdom had once loved, who now ruled like a tyrant!
Margo clenched her jaw. "Do you know how hard we have worked, to get that food...?!" She growled.
