John Fahey | 3 comments I'm looking for reviewers for my recently published book Survival. It's a memoir. You can get a look and read sample pages at: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B012QBBNYW
Right now amazon is migrating the ebook and paperback to the same display page so my reviews are slow in migrating in. The same thing is happening on amazon.co.uk but the reviews can still be read. If you are interested I can send you a PDF file. Just request the file from me. John Fahey, johnfahey2013@gmail.com

Teri Dluznieski (horsewisevt) | 6 comments is there an actual book shelf, or are you referring to this discussion thread?

i can create my own nonfiction shelf- but that does not create a community shelf.

are the moderators building a nonfiction community bookshelf?

Hi Teri,

I'm referring to this community's bookshelf. It will be easy for reviewers to browse through the bookshelf and start reviewing instead of searching through the group.
Makes life easy :-)

Following is the link,

Thanks,
Jaikrishna.

Teri Dluznieski (horsewisevt) | 6 comments found it. also, noted that most groups do not allow members to add books directly.

also noting, that one of the groups noted that bookshelves have not helped readers find books... made me wonder how bookshelves can be utilised better by groups. hell- I wasn't even aware of group book shelves until today... you'd think there would be a way to point browsers in that direction. a pinned thread with the link?

Teri,

Our group doesn't restrict any indie author from posting their book. This is an open group for everyone's benefit.

As per my observation, it is tough to go through numerous threads and find the book you want to review. The book links posted on threads get vanished as the number of posts keep increasing.A bookshelf is visual and hence attractive.

A link is enough to get to the bookshelf.I'm not sure of other ways :-)

@Members of this Group, please enlighten us.

Thanks,
Jaikrishna.

Teri Dluznieski (horsewisevt) | 6 comments I hear you and see, re the abiity for authors to list their books directly onto the shelves.

the discussion was regarding that usefulness in relation to the larger goodreads environment- where readers generally do not seem to be accessing shelves.

I would suggest making a pinned post (locked, no comments) that stays in view for people who visit the group home page/ discussion thread-- so they KNOW-SEE that there is a group bookshelf, with a list of R@R book options..

did that make sense?

Yup, that makes sense. Nice idea! That will provide a good exposure to this group's bookshelf.

Sachin V | 3 comments Hi everyone,
I just wrote and published my book ‘Please Don’t Mind: A Complete Detox of One’s Head’. The book looks at how conflict has dominated our existence. From the conflict we have with our thoughts to the conflict in society. This book explains how conflict is created and sustained by the human thought-structure and society. And in doing so, exposes a majority of ideas, beliefs and thoughts held dear by humanity to be either assumptions, or misinformation spread by a few to control the rest.
The book is divided into two parts. The first part explains the reasons an individual may be in conflict with themselves by exploring their dreams, hopes, fears, beliefs, ideas and thoughts. While the second part talks about the reasons conflict exists in society by exploring an individual’s relationship with oneself, with others, with society, god, religion, government, law, countries, ideas and environment.
If you are interested, you can get a copy on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Please-Dont-Min...
If you would like to read and review the book, I can mail it across to you. Please contact me on pleasedontmind.book@gmail.com

Jude Gibbs | 1 comments Greetings! I will introduce myself via the review/summary of my book: I am the Author of ‘Gifts from the Ashes’. Here is a Review/Summary of my book to assist:
An honest and straightforward auto-biography which includes a Bereaved Mom’s personal Testimony, 183 Topics, Scriptures of Comfort, and her deceased son’s poems. It offers Hope and Redemption to others on this journey of Grief. It is approximately 370 pages with a beautiful design and internal layout. It can also be utilized in group discussions easily because of the manner in which the Topics are presented. The Author has been a Pastor’s wife, a counselor at a treatment center in a hospital, a counselor at a private clinic, has worked numerous hotlines and at shelters for the abused, sat on the board of a major city rape crisis center for 3 yrs., had designed her own program on shame-reduction which she taught at a women’s center, facilitated many groups, raised 4 natural born children along with an adopted child and a foster child, has had 4 pregnancy losses, and was barren for 7 yrs. while being told by doctors that she could not have children. It’s a remarkable story of Hope & Redemption. She became an ordained minister 2/06. She currently operates an on line informative and supportive group for bereaved parents and continues to write new topics on WordPress. This is her 1st book. She intends to publish a 2nd in the future focused on a 24 yr. abusive marriage. I highly recommend it.
Articles on WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/posts/bereavedp....
I am the author of all articles and using them, or any portion of them, without my written permission is against copyright law. Registration# TX 8-383-134
I am also a Contributor on The Mighty: https://themighty.com/author/jude-gibbs/. The Mighty has published 21 articles that I have written since my Book was released. They have also made a brief video of a portion of one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDjuZ... I have been operating a site for Bereaved Parents which if Faith-based on FB, but hope to transition to Goodreads. The new group here is titled: Hope for Bereaved Parents. Though I currently have 726 followers on my FB site, because of numerous FB problems I am hoping to eventually close my FB account. Any suggestions for making this transition would be appreciated. TY! (((HUGS)))
