Hi!I love historical fiction, and in particular historical mysteries. It started with Lindsey Davis' great Marcus Didius Falco series (ancient Rome), and continued with Boris Akunin's Fandorin series (19th century Russia).
I also like fantasy detectives, like Barry Hughart's Bridge of Birds. All of these books are amazingly well written, and the mysteries and suspense is carried through exquisitely.
In fact, I like these genres so much that now I write books that intersect all three... I hope I will be able to do it justice - but you can be the judge of that!
I am here to find out more great historical mysteries to read.
Hello,
Glad you joined us. I hope more see this group. I think a lot of people like this type of book.
I haven't heard of fantasy detectives so that is intriguing to me. Great to hear what people are reading (and writing). Right now I am reading a historical fiction book. I just finished a mystery (not historical).

I have two interesting jobs not to mention interesting family. TV is fine I just forget to ever turn it on. I love film but mostly reading is my main form of entertainment. A true Seattlite, I love reading and espresso drinks, jazz, and the beautiful natural setting of the Northwest.
So my hidden agenda is to find more books to read in my favorite genre.
