Laurel (lacbelle) | 6 comments Hi! My name is Laurel and I like to read things.

Now that we have that out of the way... My favourite book when I was little was Green Eggs and Ham, by Doctor Seuss. Which probably goes a way in explaining some things. I loved stories from the start. At 5 years old I was already becoming a high fantasy veteran, my father had read me the Hobbit and was part way through reading me the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. My mother instilled the love of classics in me, The Little Prince and The Wind in the Willows were two of her favourite choices for story time. The Redwall series was an early favourite of mine (and still is. Mossflower is oft reread). The Count of Monte Cristo, Sabriel, the Silverwing series, Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, Cycle of the Werewolf, Harry Potter, Wolf Hall and Nicholas and Alexandra were all devoured before I finished high school (just to name a varied few).

Since then my love of classics, history and fantasy have flourished. I've recently developed a taste for horror and suspense. Which I enjoy immensely (the bloodier the better). We, all three, enjoy fiction and fantasy, so my speciality will lie in the historical and horrifying, although there will be a smattering of fantasy and non-fiction thrown in as well.

Figaro is my most recent fur baby addition. A hyper little kitty who likes to touch things he shouldn't. He joins a miniature poodle (Puhka. Slang for fluffy in Russian. WHY YES I AM A RUSSOPHILE. You are so smart.) who was practically raised by Macbeth and Boomer. So he basically counts as a cat, right?

Tina | 48 comments STILL haven't had time to read it! Had an occurrence in back yard last night between me, my 120lb Bloodhound and 2 Copper Head rattlesnakes. Me and the dog are fine. After I locked my arms around his neck and dragged him threw backyard(He thought they wanted to play, I guess the rattling was enticing toy!), up steps(where I fell busted my knee) started praying, got him threw back door, locked it. Then cked us both out..no bites. Called hubby at work and he came home but snakes were gone.
