Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments I read only a handful of pages, but so far, so good!

Melissa I'm a big fan of that series.

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments It's popular! Every time I go to download a book from the library, I have to go on a wait list.

But MAN, La Nora certainly knows how to write!

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments I'm now on Loyalty in Death (In Death, #9) by J.D. Robb , so I guess she's still sucking me in. I did take a break to read Backstage Pass, though.

It's funny to me that Roark is the ultimate alpha male. Rich, handsome, does what he wants even when it skirts the law. Though it ticks me off that he keeps giving Eve tranquilizers (or soothers, or something) when he feels she needs them, even when she says not to drug her - and there are NEVER repercussions! Come on, Eve - kick his ass for that!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments My response is interesting (to myself, at least). Usually, something like that bothers me - a lot. It was one of the reason I really disliked "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." (The friends drugged the daughter to get her to talk with her mother.)

Interesting that Roark doing this didn't push my button. Maybe b/c at those times Eve really, REALLY needed some downtime? Or that his intentions are not evil? Or...just because he's Roark?

Hmmm...a little more insight into my psyche is needed.

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Let me know what you find out. :)

I forgot to mention Roarke is also good at everything. He's Mary Sue.

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Yeah, I'm not so enamored. (In case you couldn't tell. :)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Okay, I'm on book 24. The library has them electronically in groups of five, so I have no idea what its name is. :-) This is the one with Magdelena and Craig Fister.

Roarke is getting better. He hasn't drugged Eve nearly as often. But she's also getting better at taking care of herself. It amazes me that Nora can write over 40 books with the same two characters and each one is different.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 21897 comments It is amazing.

message 17: by Abigail (new)

Abigail Sharpe (abigailsharpe) | 2010 comments Still reading. I think I'm on 37.

I wish Eve would best Roarke in a fight. He grew up with fighting, but it's her job. She should have *some* advantage, especially since she fights with criminals.

Anyone read the Inn Boonboro books? I love that one of the bed and breakfast rooms is named Eve and Roarke.

LOL! I read the first in that series. I don't think I read the second. Been meaning to get back to it.
