How old is Nicko?

Um..around 13-ish in the fourth book??

I think Septimus and Jenna are 11 in the second book, and Nicko is older than them. Do they age one year every book?

According to the character trading cards at septimusheap.com, Nicko Heap is 14 in book 4.

One thing that made me really angry: I saw several cursewords in a Nancy Drew review. I mean, there are going to be younger kids reading that. That just ticked me off.
