Nell | 78 comments Two of the categories listed have more than one number - Halloween theme (28,29,30) and crime committed (32,33). Does that mean you can read more than one book in that category for 1 point each? Or if you read a book in that category does it counts as 3 points?

I believe you can read two or three books in that category. One book won't get all the points.

Welcome Jim, Karrie, Amy and Mai!

Glad to have you all join.

The numbers were meant to match up with the number of the Halloweeen trivia item (in the spoilers) that inspired that category, since some of the trivia items were rather repeptitive.

I had intended to only allow one book for each category, but since my numbering system is a little confusing - and because there are actually more than one trivia item behind each of those categories anyways - you can count more than one book for those categories that have more than one number.

So, if there are 3 numbers, you can read 1, 2 or 3 books for that category at one point per book read.

Sound good?

Excellent job Mai!

I noticed you didn't rate Furies of Calderon as highly as the Dresden Files books. Is it a series that has potential? Or just not up to par? I'm reading The Aeronaut's Windlass and am enjoying it at the moment (it is VERY LONG), but it is quite different than Dresden Files.

message 42: by Mai (new)

Mai Thank you! It has definitely potential, but it is lacking the humor of the Dresden Files. It's also no Urban Fantasy series, but classic High Fantasy. I liked a lot of the world building (the magic, the Roman-esque setting), but felt the pacing was a little on the slow side. Still, I'm going to read book #2 in the series, too :)

Cool. I've only read up to about 8 of the Dresden files and like his writing style and humor (but geez what has he got AGAINST Harry lol). The Aeronauts Windlass has the humor and steampunk aspects so I am enjoying that so far. Am interested in others of his books.
