I'm so glad this book was chosen as the BOM. It's fantastic! It has all the things that make me fall in love with a book: a richly drawn fantastical world, interesting and diverse characters and ideas and topics that make you think. I loved how science fiction uses peoples and situations that are different from our own world, yet still reflect issues we face today. For example, already this book has addressed indirectly interracial couples, gender neutrality, and autism. And I'm only 35% of the way in! Usually I have a favorite character at this point in the story, but I'm having a hard time picking since they are all so well written. Even Corbin! I don't know if this is just me, but I'm getting the same feelings as when I read Retribution Falls (I still need to finish that series!). I think I might just really like to read about a group of characters who are diverse who work together to accomplish some type of goal while also living in a fantastical type of world. I need more stories like this in my life!
