Here we can talk about therapy- experiences, concerns, updates, anything.

Kendall (rebelsnowflake) | 3 comments I can answer your question. I've been in and out of therapy since I was about 9. It can be scary, for sure, talking to a stranger about what's going on in your brain. But if you find a therapist who you connect with, it's really quite helpful. I'm typically a very private person. I prefer to bottle my thoughts up and deal with them on my own. However, like a majority of the world, I have been through some really horrible things. It helps to have someone who is a professional tell you that how you're feeling is okay, and that you aren't alone, and that it doesn't have to define you. With help and time, whatever you are experiencing can be controlled so that it no longer controls you. (Sorry if that sounds incredibly cliche, but it's true.)

I was really young, but I agree with Kendall- if you open up enough it can be helpful, as long as you do your best with cooperating- though you shouldn't be forced into things too fast, i.e, I used to have a fear of previously owned\ library books and I wouldn't be made to pick one up (Without washing and sanitising my hands before and after) until I was ready.
