Finished chapter 10 (view spoiler)[ Maybe it was just me but the beginning confused me and I lost my initial excitement for a while. . It took me a couple of chapters to figure out who Da was. I realized from the beginning it was someone who had a mentor-kind-of influence on Mackenzie, but family tree stuff was never my strong side. Her unusual parents and the way they cope with grief, especially how her mum is trying to hide behind new projects seems true to life. What tickles my curiosity now is the murder mystery and the promise of new relationships and quirky, interesting characters. I can't wait to see how it will develop. (hide spoiler)]
